Vice Chairman STEVTA Thaheem inaugurates B-Tech Degree programs

Vice Chairman STEVTA Shahid Abdul Salam Thaheem said on Saturday that he was seeking details of OPS officers working in STEVTA, if found any official action would be taken, contractual staff will be regularized after the new budget, he expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) 4 year Degree Program at Government of Technology Larkana as Chief Guest.
He further said that he has taken over the charge as Vice Chairman STEVTA 15 days before, still he is unaware about the matters, added that he will visit the all 260 institutions of Sindh very soon and physically inquiry the problems and requirements.
Vice Chairman stated that STEVTA will be developed and equipped with all required facilities, no ghost staff will be tolerated, adding that STEVTA is going to hand over the institution of STEVTA to SRSO, he has not seen any MoU document signed by both.
Professor Muhammad Aslam Buk in welcome address said that existing building is an old, demanded the construction of academic block for B-Tech, Sports Complex, provision of Bus, advanced Lab and other facilities.
He said that institution is far away from Larkana city, there is law and order issue, deployment of Police and Rangers Personals should be made for protection of students and teachers.
On the occasion, General Secretary PPP Larkana Abdul Fatah Bhutto, Regional Director STEVTA Larkana Aijaz Ali Jamali, Principal Government College of Technology Larkana Munir Ahmed Shaikh, PPP Leader Muhammad Aslam Shaikh, Professor Quaid e Awam Engineering University Nawabshah Professor M Uris Shaikh and others also addressed.
Earlier Vice Chairman STEVTA Shahid Abdul Salam Thaheem visited the Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto and laid floral wreath on Mazar of founder PPP Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and other martyred leaders of Bhutto family and offered dua for peace of departed souls.

Sindh Shehri Itehad demands reinstatement of 107 sacked employees of L G

LARKANA:
The members of Sindh Shehri Itehad Larkana and citizen continued their protest and token hunger strike outside the Jinah Bagh gate against the for reinstatement of sacked 107 employees of different union councils of Larkana district here on Saturday.
President Sindh Shehri Itehad Larkana Imdad Ali Shaikh, Hizbullah Unar, Nisar Ahmed Soomro, Ayaz Jafri, Ghulam Hussain Ansari and others led the protest.
They told media men that Assistant Director Local Government Larkana Abdul Razaque Shaikh has terminated the services of 107 poor employees without any reason, proving the anti employees policy, which condemnable act.
They said that families of sacked employees are compelled to face starvation and poverty, Sindh Shehri Itehad leaders demanded of Sindh government to take notice of matter and reinstate all terminated employees of Larkana otherwise they will continue their protest.

Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aaghahi presents education findings in Larkana

Idara-e- Taleem-o- Aaghahi (ITA) in collaboration with South Asian Forum for Education Development (SAFED) organized a one day Seminar and presented its Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) Pakistan 2013 here at Auditorium hall of Government Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana on Friday.
Provincial Coordinator Provincial Coordinator ITA Sindh Mumtaz Pirzado gave his presentation and shared findings ASER, according to report, 1500 government schools were visited and found lack of proper facilities, still thousands boys and girls aged 5 are out of schools which is violation of article 25 A right to education, state should provide the free and compulsory education to all children of the age five to sixteen, he said. He said that it is mockery in education department that Students, even students of Tenth X Class are unable to read English story, but they were passed out from Ninth to Tenth, added that.
DEO Elementary Larkana Nawab Ali Khokhar in his speech said that all stake holders will have to take work for provision of education to all and in order to achieve Millennium Development Goal, one should not be held responsible on its failure, it needs collective efforts to meet the challenges and increase the literacy rate.
On the occasion Principal Government Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana Deedar Ali Mugheri, District Coordinator ASER Majid Khan Abbasi and others also addressed.

Larkana Shehri Itehad and Jatoi community staged sit in for recovery of Abducted Shahid Jatoi

LARKANA: Larkana Shehri Itehad and a large number of people of Jatoi community staged sit in and demonstration outside the Jinah Bagh Chok and Larkana Press Club for recovery of abducted people of different district of Sindh among Shahid Jatoi son of Qurban Jatoi former Chairman Wapda Hydro Union Larkana and increasing criminal activities in Sindh here on Friday.
The protestors were holding the banners and placards inscribed with slogans demanding the maintenance of Law and order situation and action against the influential persons behind the kidnappings and robberies.
Advocate Anwar Ali Janwri, Ghazi Khan Lashari, Miandad Jatoi, Khalid Chandio, Mehmood Pathan, Hadi Jatoi and others led the protest and told media men that highway robberies and kidnappings are on rise in Larkana and other parts of Sindh, Police are reluctant to take action against the dacoits and outlaws, added that Shahid Jatoi is in clutches of dacoits in Shikarpur district area but Police are helpless. remove
They demanded of high ups to take notice of matter, conduct operation against the criminals and recover abducted man Shahid Jatoi, on the occasion protestors called for the deployment of Rangers at Shikarpur for operation and provide protection to common citizens.
