KARACHI: The President Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has demanded of the government to take notice of the lethargic attitude by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) which has dumped the Vapour Heat Treatment (VHT) plant at the backyard of the Expo Centre. In a statement he said that this issue is of urgent nature and should be tackled on priority for the sake of our fruits exports. He said that TDAP authorities despite the lodging of many FIRs and imprisonment of several former officers and CEs did not learn a lesson and continuing to follow the footsteps of their predecessors. He said that VHT plant was lying at the port for many months and it was criminal on the part of TDAP to let the demurrage pile up to the tune of Rs3 million . It could have been clear from the port much earlier. He said that the TDAP high ups are once again playing the blame game by putting all the blame on ministry of commerce and for not making decision about the installation of the plant though its sole responsibility of TDAP to decide it with the consultations of stakeholders. He further demanded to appoint some senior and experienced officer of Grade 21, to the post of Secretary TDAP in order to smoothly run the affairs of this important organization responsible for exports promotion.
