SUKKUR: SP, National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) Sukkur region, Capt (retired) Faisal Abdulllah has said that NH&MP Sukkur has made extraordinary security measures for the safety of property and life of passengers during Eid-ul-Azha.
Speaking with a delegation of transporters of the Sukkur at his office here on Tuesday, SP NH&MP informed the delegation that he has already directed all patrolling officers to check speeding which was the major cause of accidents on national highways.
He said that he has asked patrolling officers to ensure uninterrupted and smooth flow of traffic.
SP Faisal said due focus should also be given to ensure safe journey, provision of timely help to road users and elimination of crimes from highways by utilizing all available resources.
All chief patrolling officers have been directed to personally monitor the performance of special patrolling squads and installation of speed cameras to check speeding and crime, he said.
He further said Motorway Police would impart quality traffic training to the public in order to create maximum traffic awareness about rules and regulation.
Motorway Police has also played an important role in reducing the overall crime rate by more than 85% on motorways and national highways, the SP added.
