DC directs officials to provide irri-water to the tail-end growers

The Deputy Commissioner Badin, Mr. Mohammad Rafique Qureshi has directed to the all Executive Engineers, irrigation and SIDA officers to make all out efforts to provide maximum quantity of irrigation water to the tail ends growers.
According to detail, The Deputy Commissioner Badin, Mr. Muhammad Rafique Qureshi while conducting a meeting with the officers of Irrigation and SIDA as well as Assistant Commissioners, Mukhtiarkar and SSP Badin regarding shortage of irrigation water which was held at Darbar Hall Badin.
During meeting photos of illegal water courses were showed to the participants. Mr. Qureshi emphasized over the officer to make detail survey and work out the numbers of illegal tempered water courses of even those small and large growers he might be hold high influence and also belonging to any political party would be initiated action according to the irrigation rules and law.
Responding to the directives of the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah regarding provision of sufficient quantity of water to the tail enders, He further said that teams will be constituted to check the water theft at Nasir Canal, Guni Canal, Phuleli Canal and Akram Canal. He said that those area may be identified where paddy crops is banned by the Government so that their paddy crop would be removed.
He said that FIRs and penalty will be imposing on the tempered water courses/modules who cultivated 100% crop through irrigation department. The Executive Engineer, Phuleli Division informed the meeting that with the efforts of high ups maximum water shortage of Badin District have been maintained, however, we are not in a position to lodge FIRs against some Zamindars out of 330 growers who belongs Phuleli Canal without any support of law forcing agencies.
He further informed that Sindh Irrigation Department under its rehabilitation of water course program has allocated funds during current financial year for the rehabilitation of Jagir wah, Sultani Wah and Morjhar wah and others and department has made its PCI and submitted to P&D Karachi. DC Badin directed to make vigilance over those rectified and redesigned water courses which have been maintained, he also said that administration was not responsible for any irregularity and negligence of irrigation department.
The meeting was attended by the SSP Badin, Executive Engineers, Jawed Memon, SDO Phuleli, Amanullah Qureshi, Executive Engineer Akram Wah, Mr. Fawad Executive Engineer Guni Canal Ghulam Nabi Rahookro, Executive Engineer Drainage Mr. Masood Seehar, Assistant Commissioners Badin, Matli, Shaheed Fazil Rahoo, Talhar and Tando Bago.
While talking with media citizen of Badin including Advocate Ram Kolhi, Advocate Ramzan Rind, Abu Talib Khaskheli, Abdul Aziz Khaskheli & others said that prolonged un-scheduled load shedding in Ramzan Mubarak has completely paralyzed the normal life and disturbed routine lives of the people.
Citizens of Badin appealed high authorities to take serious notice of prolonged un-scheduled load shedding and direct the concerned officials to provide relief to people of Badin especially during month Ramzan.
