KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has suspended 37 Town Municipal Officers (TMO) for not obeying his orders and not depositing the details of six month’s accounts of respective towns.
The Minister taken action on Tuesday while exercising his power conferred to him under Act “RSO 2000” with the warning that the services of these officers would be terminated if they were not deposit the details of the accounts.
These officers were issued showcase notice on 22-09-2014 and later on 27 June 2015 for providing the accounts details but they failed to provide accounts details and finally the minister in exercising his power suspended them.
Those who suspended are Amir Ali Bhutto (Admn branch), Faisal Hasan Daheri (admn branch), Abdul Rasool Khoso (TMO Sakrand), Syed Muhammad Ali Shah (admn branch), Mian Imran Andhair (TMO Sualeh put), Khalid Khan Kharoosh and Waqar Ahmed (TMO Obaro), Syed Javed Hasan Shah (TMO Pano Aqil), Agha Khaliq Ahmed Khan Durrani and Syed Ahsan Ali Shah (TMO Sohbo Dero), Agha Amjad Ali Pathan (TMO Ghari Khero), Manzoor Hussain Samejo, Gada Hussain Zardari and Shafqat (TMO Jhuddo), Baghan Khan Nandwani (TMO Tangwani), Liaquat Ali Bhatti and Abid Ali Khoso (TMO Manjhand), Amar Lal Akarani and Ali Ahmed Magsi (MCO Hala), Iqtedar Ali Jafri and Mehboob Ali Bariri (Shaheed Benaziabad), Abdul Hameed Shaikh (Diplo), Majid Anwar Sehar and Muhammad Ibrahim Umrani (Tando Adam), Waheed Panhiyar and Ejaz Ahmed Mallah (Mero Khan), Anisur Rehman Sayal (DMC Korangi), Zahoor Ahmed Lakhan (Naushero Feroz), Syed Ejaz Ali Shah (Malir), Ayaz Hameedullah Baloch (Malir), Alamghir Junejo (Sanjharo), Mehtab Ali Khawaja (Samaro), Fayyaz Ali Shah and Syed Ali Haider Shah, Syed Ali Mughari, Zainul Abideen Malik (Kunri) and Azizur Rehman Tunio.
The Minister also declared that the government would not tolerate the corrupt and ghost employees in local government department and warned the officers and employees to work with honesty and dedication otherwise action would be taken against them.

KARACHI: Sindh Government has decided to make more active heatstroke relief centers setup in every district all over the province and doctors, paramedical staff, medicines, drinking water and other life saving facilities would be available in these centers.
The decision was taken in a high level meeting held under the chair of the Sindh Minister for Information and local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon and the Secretary LG Atta Soomro, KMC Administrator Roshan Shaikh, MD KWSB Hashim Raza Zaidi and other officers attended the meeting.
It was decided that the action would be taken against former town and district nazims and officers to be found involved in the land grabbing specially in china cutting on amenity plots and government land. The minister directed the KMC Administrator to refer the cases against the nazims and officers to be found involved in China cutting.
The meeting was informed that 56000 employees of KMC and all six DMCs have opened their salary accounts in Sindh Bank and now the salary of all civic bodies employees would be paid through these accounts while those employees who did not open their accounts in Sindh Bank would not be paid their salary as the government decided to pay the salary through Sindh Bank from 1st July.
The Minister said that the decision to pay the salary through Sindh Bank was aimed to check the ghost employees and thousands of employees still not opened their account till today. He said these employees would not get salary as per decision.
He said the civic bodies already find out the ghost employees from grade 19 to grade one and they would be terminated if they were not report to the office and not joining office.
The meeting offered fateha for those who died in heatstroke and the Minister informed the authorities that he will regular visit the heatstroke centers and monitor the working of the centers. He said no leniency would be tolerated.
The Minister said that the free water tanker scheme would continue and it would be ensure to provide the water to common man, mosques and hospitals and action would be taken against the tanker mafia if they found to disturb the free tanker supply to people.
He directed the MD KWSB to ensure the implementation of free water tanker service and talk to tanker association and chalk out the plan for smooth water supply to the people.
The Minister said that he will regularly visit the city areas to monitor the cleanliness and other civic facilities and action would be taken against the responsible of negligence in this regard
