HYDERABAD: All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union has announced strike and rallies against privatization on 9th April Tuesday throughout Pakistan during which rallies and processions will be taken out and also offices to remain closed to express anger and indignation over government policy of privatization. The announcement was made by president of workers union Abdul Latif Nizamani addressing office bearers of various units at labour hall here Monday.He said despite their repeated protests government was bent not to withdraw its policy of selling public interest institutes pushing the workers to wall to compel them to extreme action. He said on 9th April all offices of power distribution companies will be closed down and rallies will be taken out. He said at Sindh level the rallies will be taken out in Hyderabad and Sukkur,Thatta, Sujawal, Jamshoro, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar,Nawabshah and Matiari. He said privatization was deadly poison which was not only dangerous for employees but also for solidarity of country.He said the struggle against privatization was not only their issue but national issue in which all working class and citizens shall have to take part against it. Provincial secretary general Iqbal Qaimkhani on this occasion announced various committees for transport,stage, media and administration, He made appeal to all Wapda employees from whole Sindh to join them in Hyderabad and Sukkur. Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Malik Sultan Ali, Azam Khan, Hanif Khan, Asadullah, Nawab Chhagro, and others also spoke on the occasion.
