KARACHI: Veteran Pakistani diplomat and the world’s longest serving ambassador, Jamsheed Marker passed away in Karachi on Thursday.
He served as Pakistan’s top envoy to United States and several other countries for over three decades.
Jamsheed Marker’s name was included in the Guinness Book for serving as “ambassador to more countries than any other person” and also for being “the world’s longest serving ambassador.”
He was also awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his services.
Marker was fluent in English, Urdu, Gujarati, French, German and Russian languages.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
