HYDERABAD: A Thar Conference was held at a local hotel of Hyderabad on Thursday regarding the drought and increasing religious fundamentalism.
On that occasion speakers including PPP senator Taj Haider, socail activist Mustafa Baloch and others have said that the only solution to problems of Thar is united planning, Thar coal and land of Thar belong to people of Thar, rather purchasing the land of Thar it should be given on lease, there should be a proper solution to the scarcity of water in Thar.
They said that Sindh government is not ready to accept the drought in Thar, it is not serious upon issue of Thar. 70% of gas is found from Sindh yet many areas are unable to get facility of gas.
They said that there is too much poverty, for that government should announce skill development program for youth of Thar. People of 9 districts of Sindh including Thar are living under the line of poverty, and are unable to get basic health facilities.
