KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that so far the law & order was concerned Sindh Government and Federal Govt were on same page. He said that the Law & Order situation in Sindh was different from other provinces of the Pakistan, as here main criminal element was the illegal immigrants.
He said that in addition to other nations about one million illegal Afghan immigrants are residing in Karachi and many among them are involved in the crime. He said that this Govt has asked the Federal Govt to get these illegal Afghan immigrant repatriate by 31st Dec, 2015 positively and also to help in identifying and ejection of the other illegal immigrants with the help of NADRA. This he observed while talking to the USA Consul General Mr. Brian Heath who called on him at CM House today.
Talking on the occasion the Chief Minister Sindh said that the Sindh Govt and Federal Govt jointly to implement Nation Action Plan against the terrorism here at Sindh Province likewise other provinces for which he held a detailed meeting of provincial APEX Committee here at CM House today. He said that constitution of Pakistan was very much intact only a time bound amendment have been made to try the terrorists in the military courts and further to strengthen integrity and solidarity of the country.
He said that the Federal Govt and All Provincial Govts are fighting with terrorism vigorously which according to him need support from the international community’s as well. He said that the Sindh Govt had already launched the anti terrorism operation in Karachi since Sept 2013 but now we have been more empowered with the support of constitutional protected military courts to bring the terrorists to the justice. However the CM pointed out that though we have trained police force, Rangers Force but still we are lacking the latest equipments, weapons for which Sindh Govt needed help.
Syed Qaim Ali Sha the drought like situation in the Distt Tharpakar was another problem being faced by the Sindh Govt since last four years. He said that due to drought since last 4 years, the shortage of water has been depend. In order to provide fresh sweet water to the people of Thar, the Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari has inaugurated the solar energy based Asia largest RO Plant installed at Mitthi at the District Head Quarter of Tharparkar with the capacity to deliver 0.2 million gallon water per day.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that another similar RO plant with capacity of 1.5 MGD was also being established at Islamkot in addition to that 750 other solar based small RO plants are also being installed in the Distt Tharparkar under the instructions of Ex-President and Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari to resolve the water issue once for all. He said that in addition to that the PPP Govt has launched many development schemes and it intends further huge development to raise the living standard of the people of Tharpakar.
Further Chief Minister was of the view that the Sindh Govt had up graded the Civil Hospital of Mitthi with all facilities in addition to other health facilities in the district. He said that against the 1.6 million population of Tharpakar, the people of Tharparkar possess about 6.5 million Cattle Population and PPP Govt was considering to facilitate them in this sector to raise their source of earning. The CM Sindh lauded the USA efforts in the promotion of Education and Health facilities in the Sindh Province.
The Consul General while talking the occasion said that USA was the good friend of Pakistan and it has already helped Pakistan to in elimination of Terrorism and to continue the same. He also offered full support to the Sindh Govt in other fields as well.
