SAFWU held series of activities & Educational programs

Sindh Agriculture & Fishing Workers Union organized “Three Days Refresher Course for Trainers” the series of program on “Occupational Safety & Health” and “Organise the un-organised” here at local Hotel Karachi.
A newly registered Sindh Agriculture & Fishing Workers Union in January, 2015 has started its activities and educational programs in different parts of Karachi and rest of country after 18th amendment in the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and devolution of powers the 1st time Government of Sindh promulgated Industrial Relations Act, 2013 in which the agriculture sector was also declared as industry/establishment and its workers was given right of formation of the union.
As for the International Labour Organisation (ILO) passed a Convention C – 11 in 1921 for right of formation of union by the workers working/engaged in agriculture Sector and the Government of Pakistan has also ratified the same convention even convention 87 for freedom of association but in the history of Pakistan no law was promulgated for registration of the union in agriculture sector told WAQAR A. Memon General Secretary SAFWU recently designed a series of program on “Occupational Safety & Health” and “Organise the un-organised” sectors/activities.
