KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that It was the only PPP, having sprit and tradition to sacrifice lives , properties and Blood of its leaders and workers in addition to bear imprisonment and atrocities for the cause of country and Nation’s prosperity.
He said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life for the country and PPP workers had found no way other than to donate the Blood for the poor Thalassemia patient’s (children) and Pak-Army Soldiers to pay rich tributes to her sacrifice on her each Birth Day Anniversary. This he said while talking to mediamen after visiting the Mega Blood Transfusion among registered Thalassemia patient’s (children) arranged by Peoples Doctor’s Forum (PDF) at Expo centre Karachi this evening.
The Political Co-ordinator to CM Muhammad Siddique Abu Bhai, Special Assistants to CM Waqar Mehdi, Rashid Rabbani and Head of PDF Senator Dr. Karim Khuwaja were accompanied the Chief Minister Sindh during the visit. The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the Blood which has been transfused to the Thalassemia patients (children) today at this Expo Centre was donated by the PPP workers to pay rich tributes to the sacrifice of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on the eve of her 61st Birthday Anniversary.
He said that this was annual practice of the PPP and its sub- branch People Doctors forum (PDF) not only to abreast the sacrifice of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto among the masses but also to help the poor patients specially Thalassemia patients and Pak – Army Soldiers , who always were engaged to fight with enemies of the Pakistan.
He said that about 2000 to 2500 Blood bags donated by PPP workers have been transfused to the registered Thalassemia children today at Expo Centr Karachi and more than 1000 Blood Bags have been provided to such poor patient children simultaneously at Badin, Nawabshah, Sukkur and other cities in Interior Sindh today.
He said that major share of donated blood 20,000 Blood bags have been provided and dedicated to the Pak Army troops in operation of Zarb-e-Azab with a view to support and show solidarity with them. He said that we fully support the decision of Pak-Army and Federal Govt for launching Zarb-e-Azab operation against the terrorists in North Wazirstan and added that Sindh Govt and PPP to extend all help whatever needed in this operation. Earlier the Chief Minister Sindh was warmly welcomed by the Thalassemia Patients Children with slogans.
They Children and their parents presented flower bouquet to the Chief Minister Sindh and asked him to continue this practice on each year. The Chief Minister Sindh took round of the hall of the Expo Centre; he met with the patients children, their parents and organizers of Mega Blood Transfusion event. He lauded their sprit and assured full support from the Sindh Govt for this noble cause.
FIRST PHASE OF POLICE TRAINING JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY SINDH POLICE & GIZ OF GERMANY COMPLETED
KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police Sindh Iqbal Mehmood said that more than 200 master trainers and 2000 Police officers of various rank have been trained at Police Training College, Saeedabad, Shahdadpur and PTS Larkana which was indeed a great achievement. “The endeavors of GIZ and training wing of Sindh Police are commendable for wonderful coordination and excellent working relationship”, he added. He further said that the capacity development support to the Sindh Police will significantly increase the professional competence of the Police on one hand, and on the other it will lead, and assist the Police towards much-needed specialization in conducting meaningful investigations.
This he said at a Certificate Distribution Ceremony which was held at a local hotel here today to mark the completion of the first phase of the training cycle jointly organized by the Sindh Police and GIZ of Germany under the Capacity Development Support to Sindh Police (CDSP) Project.
The IGP Sindh Mr. Iqbal Mehmood and H.E Mr.Hans-Juergen Paschke, the Acting Consul General of Germany graced the occasion and distributed certificates of attendance to the officers of Sindh Police.
It is pertinent to point out here that during the first phase of the training cycle, the CDSP Project organized workshops on the importance of forensics and crime scene Investigation. As many as 650 officers of Sindh Police attended these workshops. The project also conducted the course for Instructors and trainees of Police Training Colleges Saeedabad, Shahdadpur, Larkana and Special Branch including Course on Method of Instructions, First Responder Course, Investigation Management Course, Moharar / Duty Officers Course, Station House Officers Course and Basic Intelligence & Surveillance Course.
In the first phase over 200 Instructors and 200 Police Officers of various units and branches of Sindh Police successfully completed the training. The second of the CDSF training cycle will be held from August to December 2014 and it is envisaged that as many as 300 Police officers will undergo specialized training course during this training Phase.
The CDSP Project has also delivered training aids, furniture and IT Equipment worth Rs. 1 Crore 57 Lac (1 hundred 10 thousand Euros) to Sindh Police. Furthermore the project has procured five state of the art latent master fingerprint systems for the Forensic Division at a cost of Rs. 15 Lac and further Rs. 17 Lac material will be given to Police in this year.
The ceremony was attended by members of civil society & senior Police officers including Addl. IGP Special Branch Syed Zakir Hussain Shah; Addl. IGP Karachi /Traffic Ghulam Qadir Thebo; DIG CID, DIG Training, DIG Special Branch, DIG South, DIG West, DIG Crime and others.
