KARACHI: Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Culture and Tourism Ms Sharmila Faruqui chaired 12th meeting of Management board of endowment fund for needy writer, poets and artists at directorate of Culture Department.
Management board has scrutinized 329 application forms submitted by poor, ill and deserving artists from all over Sindh Province and approved 13.3 million rupees for 173 applications from endowment fund account. 138 deferred applications of 11th meeting of management board were included in this meeting.
Sharmila Faruqui said that we are custodian of funds and trying to make this system more transparent and easily accessible in rural area of Sindh. She announced 2 lac rupees for the Kishwar Jehan widow of Syed Anwar Hussain, who was senior sound recordist at PTV and murdered in Karachi, she said that it is unfortunate that federal government and PTV did not care and support Syed Anwar Hussain’s family.
Beneficiaries of 12th meeting are Dr. Aslam Azad, Nasreen Naz, Amanat Ali, Gulab Chandio, Aslam Bhutto, Mir M. Lakho, Seema Khatoon, Roshan Jee, Saleem Shehzad, Mehmood khan, Irshad ali and others. List of the beneficiaries of 12th meting of endowment fund has been pasted at directorate of Culture.
The meeting was attended by Mustufa Qureshi, Abdul Hameed sindhi, Sarfaraz Rajar, Sallah uddin Tunio, Naseer Baig Mirza, Hasina Moen, Fehmida Hussain, DG Culture Manzoor Kanasro, additional secretary Bashir Ahmed brohi and Assistant director culture Zahid Akhund.
BENAZIR BHUTTO SHAHEED UNIVERSITY LYARI SIGNS MoU WITH NATIONAL TESTING SERVICE

KARACHI: The Registrar of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University, Lyari (BBSUL), has announced that a MoU has been signed between BBSUL and National Testing Service, Pakistan to avail the salient advantages for the students of BBSUL.
The Registrar said that BBSUL will become the Associate Partner with NTS-Need based scholarship program adding that BBSUL will acknowledge/accept applicants/candidates for admission who possess a valid NTS (NAT/GAT) test and waive our other Admission Test requirements. He further informed that students of BBSUL (who have qualified NTS or have cleared Admission Test of BBSUL) will become eligible to apply for NTS scholarships, on need base as determined by BBSUL internal Scholarship Award Committee. Registrar said that BBSUL current admission policy for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programs will continue.
C.S. SUSPENDED UMERKOT’S MUKHTIARKAR & PATWARI ON BRIBERY DEMAND

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has suspended Umerkot based Mukhtiarkar Muhammad Moosa Rind and Patwari Habibullah on the complaint of Umerkot’s resident Rajesh Kumar, who submitted his documents for verification by Mukhtiarkar Umerkot, in respect of Prime Minister Youth Business Loan Scheme.
It was reported that officials above named demanded bribery, to this effect. Hotiana got conducted enquiry, and finding the report authentic, issued suspension order, formerly communicated by Board of Revenue, Sindh, as well departmental proceeding has also been initiated.
