Province-wide shutt down strike observed

LARKANA/DADU/SHIKARPUR: A complete shutter down and wheel jam strike was observed in Larkana, Kamber Shahdadkot, Dadu and all districts of Sindh, on the protest call given by JSQM against non registration of FIR killing of JSQM Leader Masood Khan Qureshi brother of former Chairman JSQM martyred Bashir Khan Qureshi and his companion Salman Wadho who were allegedly burnt to death near Bhiria road on 20th March 2014.
All business centers, shops and main bazaars among Resham gali, bunder road, Shahi Bazar, Anaj mandi, sabzi mandi, Pakistani chok, shopping centers, petrol pumps, CNG stations were reportedly remained closed, a traffic was thick during the protest, all main roads including VIP road, Station road and others were deserted.
On call of Jeay Sindh Quomi Mahaz – JSQM, a completely shutter down strike was observed in town on Wednesday to protest against for not registering FIR of murders of JSQM leaders, Maqsood Khan Qureshi and Salman Wadho.
All business markets including Rai bazar, Resham Gali, Station road, New chowk, fruit and vegetables remained closed. On the other hand, traffic on Dadu-Hyderabad, Dadu-Larkana and Dadu-Moro routes remained thin. While Heavy contigency of police was deployed at various places to face any unpleasant situation.
However, Shutter down strike was also observed in Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi, Bhan Sayedabad, Sehwan towns.
Responding the call from central leadership of Jeay Sindh Quami Mahaz-JSQM the shutter down strike was observed here in Shikarpur in protest against the delaying tactics of police for registration of FIR of murder case of JSQM leaders Maqsood Qureshi and Salman Wadhyo as the relatives on Wednesday here.
The rally was led by Sami Billali was taken out by the JSQM workers on the occasion and staged a demonstration at Rustam Chowk here and blocked the Shikarpur – Sukkur National Highway road.
The workers also burnt the tyres on the road and raised the slogans against the police. While they have demanded to register the FIR of the murder case of Shaheed Maqsood Qureshi and Salman Wadhyo as the relatives desired.
On the other hand the JSQM leaders threatened to launch the serious protest movement if their demands were not accepted.
The activists of JSQM took out the rallies led by Athar Soomro, Aziz Shaikh, Dr Mumtaz Shaikh and others, staged sit in at Jinah Bagh Chok set the tyers on fire and shouted the slogans in favor of their demands and called for provision of justice by arresting the involved accused.
During the protest, Police arrested 7 activists of JSQM among Waheed Metilo, Zohaib Soomro, Rajesh, Aneel Kumar and Javed Kalhoro and took away to different Police stations.
Besides all tehsils of Larkana district, Kamber Shahdadkott and its towns among Tehsil Dokri, Bakrani, Badah town, Arija, Ratodero Tehsil, Naudero town, Bunguldero, Tehsil Nasirabad, Warah tehsil, Shahdadkot tehsil, Sijawal Junejo, Miro Khan tehsil, Qubo Saeed Khan and others remained the closed, no wheel was moved in those cities, and people faced many hardships due to suspension of public transport facilities.
During the protest strict security measures were taken to avoid from any untoward situation, a large number of Police personal were deployed at various sensitive points to maintain the law and order situation.
