ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to go for by-elections on NA-122 and NA-154 and challenged the PTI chief Imran Khan to contest by-polls against Ayaz Sadiq and Jehangir Tareen to fight against Saddiq Baloch.
Talking to newsmen after a meeting of the top leadership of the PML-N, which was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, federal minister Pervez Rashid announced that the government would not request for any stay order from the apex court.
He said that the PTI leaders were trying to escape from by-polls through different excuses, adding that if the present election commission could hold by-polls in Haripur and LB polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, then why not the by-elections in Punjab.
He said that the government has decided to go to public court and get fresh mandate on NA-122 and NA-154. He said that Khuwaja Saad Rafiq was on a foreign visit and final decision would also be taken about his constituency after his return to the country.
Earlier, PM Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting which was attended by leader of the House in the Senate Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq and Chief Minister Punjab, Federal Ministers, Ministers of State, Special Assistants to Prime Minister and members of the National and Provincial Assemblies.
