PM summons report over unannounced load-shedding

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed his displeasure over the unannounced load-shedding being conducted in the country.
The prime minister has instructed the Ministry of Water and Power to immediately present a report over unannounced load-shedding in the country and has further instructed to provide water to areas facing water shortage.
The prime minister has also ordered to the ministry to take steps for upgrading the system.
While, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif on Monday apologized to the nation for unannounced loadshedding over the weekend and said the outages occurred when two transformers went out of order in Lahore on July 12.
KARACHI: The duration of unannounced loadshedding of electricity has increased with the increasing shortfall in power supply in the country, while the hapless masses continue living a miserable life in this scorching summer heat in the month the holy Ramzanul Mubarak, Geo News reported.
Power outages in the city have become a routine, there is no let-off and no sign of any relief as the authorities have turned deaf ears to the protests staged by the enraged people in different localities at different times.
The government claims of uninterrupted power supply at least during the Iftar and Sehri time have fallen flat, while the persons at the helm of affairs making absurd excuses of faults in the transmission lines etc and forcing the people to suffer the agonies of passing sleepless nights and breaking fast, taking Sehri in candle lights sweating all over.
