PM Nawaz orders speedy relief activities in flood-hit areas

More rains, flash floods expected during next 3 days: PMD

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives, damages to property in Chitral floods.
He has directed the National Disaster Management Authority to gear up relief activities in the flood affected areas of the country.
The PM could not undertake visit to Chitral today due to bad weather conditions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday said that there is risk of flash flooding in the local streams and Nullahs of Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eastern Balochistan and Kashmir during the next three days due to monsoon rains.
Widespread rain is expected in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, and Kashmir during the next twenty four hours. Scattered rain is also expected in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, D.G Khan, Zhob, Kalat, Sibi, Naseerabad, Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, D.I Khan, Bahawalpur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA during this period.
