Peace, knowledge centric policies enlightened face of Pakistan: Info Minister

ISLAMABAD, Apr 22 (INP): Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Wednesday said that the world considers Pakistan as part of the solution of problems and not part of problem.

Addressing the National Book Day Festival here on Wednesday he said Pakistan-China Economic Corridor would benefit not only Pakistan but South Asia and the world as well.

He said that an enlightened face of Pakistan is emerging on the world due to its initiatives for promotion of peace and knowledge.

The Information Minister emphasized the need for promoting book reading habits amongst the people saying this will help further spread message of peace and harmony.

He regretted that in the past, ignorance was spread in the name of knowledge which resulted in the spread of terrorism. However, now a correct course has been adopted to lit the candle of knowledge and fight the forces of evil and ignorance. Pakistan, therefore, is now being regarded not as part of problems but solutions. He appreciated the role played by the writers for enhancing the image of Pakistan.

Later, talking to the media persons in Islamabad, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid assured that the projects signed with China will be implemented diligently and transparently in order to ensure bright future of Pakistan.

When asked about Yemen crisis, the information minister said Pakistan is in constant contact with Saudi Arabia and other fraternal countries on the issue.
About the pre poll rigging allegations of PTI chairman at NA-246, the Information Minister said the negative politics of container has failed.
