Pakistan offers ideal environment for investment: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan offers lucrative incentives to investors in various sectors, including telecom.
He said this while talking to Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom Jean Yves Charlier in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said international business community’s confidence to invest in Pakistan has been restored due to the investment-friendly policies of the PML-N government.
The Prime Minister said we are encouraging the telecom companies to expand their outreach to far-flung areas of the country so that majority of the masses could benefit from the technology.
Mr Jean Yves Charlier appreciated the business friendly policies of the present government and teledensity in Pakistan is one of the highest in the region which makes the country one the favourite destinations for foreign investors.
A delegation of the reputed telecom VimpelCom also called on Finance Minister in Islamabad.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Company Jean-Yves Charlier said the company has five billion dollars investment in Pakistan since inception and delivers services to thirty-eight million customers.
Ishaq Dar said VimpelCom and Mobilink could contribute in expanding the telecom sector to encompass underserved areas of the country.
