KARACHI: On the directives of Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, a special team of Food Department raided in different parts of Panu Aqil on seven factories and recovered almost one lac wheat bags which were illegally stored there. According to details, a special team of Food Department Sindh along with District Food Controller Panu Aqil Qayum Khakhhro and Food Inspector Akhtar Kulver raided and recovered 20,000 wheat bags from Abdul Karim Waqo factory, 30,000 wheat bags from Haji Illahi Bux Factory, more than 10000 from Haji Sher Muhammad Factory more than 5000 from Al-Makkah Rice mill, 6000 from Muhammad Ali Sheikh Factory, 6000 from Muhammad Siddiqui Factory and more than 5000 wheat bags from Sanaullah Korai Factory. Having recovered these wheat bags the food department has shifted to official godowns and legal action has been initiated against the accused.
In a statement issued here on Monday Food Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Food Department Sindh has launched a crackdown against hoarders, profiteers and commission mafia and he warned the hoarders to bring their wheat stock into the market and sell it at government procurement centres in either case a strict actions would be taken against them.
Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that he would not spare profiteers, hoarders and commission mafia and they all would be taken to task.
