KARACHI: The roadmap to bring more investment and expertise for development in various sectors of Sindh Province was discussed in a meeting between Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Consul General of China in Karachi Mr. Ma Yaou and Vice Consul General Mu- Youngpreng held at CM House Karachi today evening.
Talking on the occasion The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that China was close & confident friend of Pakistan. He said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his counterpart Prime Minister of China was the founder of this friendship while Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto and Ex-President of Pakistan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari further cemented these relations for the progress and prosperities of both nation and region as whole.
He said that no doubt China has lot of technical & modern expertise in various sectors of development and strength to invest there, where as The Sindh province is rich with Agriculture, Minerals and Oil & gas reserves which are yet to be exploited for the betterment of common man.
He said that being a best friend China is best option for the Sindh Government to get its technical expertise for utilization of indigenous resources as it already working with Chinese firm especially in the field of energy. He said that at present the main challenge which is being experienced was shortage of energy as such Sindh govt is more interested to be self sufficient in the coal based power generation. He said that his govt intend to bring development with the technical expertise an investment of China specially in the Energy, Coal mining, agriculture, Lining of Canals , Infrastructure Development, Mass Transit and Solid Waste Management System.
The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah while elaborating the experience of his previous visit of China and its benefits asked the Chinese diplomats to prepare further roadmap for mutual understanding and better relations between Sindh’s & China’s Government to put more M.o.U’s Agreements with Public and Private companies, Financial & Insurance Organization of China so that this Journey of progress and prosperity could be expedited. He said that PPP govt want to complete many such projects within their present tenure of govt.
The Consul General of China Mr. Ma Yaou welcomed the Chief Minister’s desire for engaging Chinese Govt and its Public Private Companies in its development strategies.
He assured the Chief Minister Sindh that he to communicate the future working plan of Sindh Govt for getting Chinese investment and expertise with his govt and finally to prepare a roadmap for Sindh Govt to implement, he said that he to play the role of communication between Chinese and Sindh Govt.
He said that Chinese expertise will always be available for its best friend Pakistan / Sindh Province.
The Advisor to CM for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah and Principal Secretary to CM Rai Sikandar were also present in the meeting.
