KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against ‘extra judicial killings and forced disappearances of its workers.’
A large number of people including members of MQM’s Rabita Committee attended the demonstration which was held outside the Karachi Press Club.
Speaking at the protest, senior leader Farooq Sattar said 45 MQM workers went missing while 300 fell prey to targeted killing in the city. He said that blood-soaked bodies of 25 activists were found days after they were kidnapped by people in plainclothes.
Sattar said the MQM should be allowed to deal with the plainclothes people if the government, army and the law enforcement agencies were unable to do so.
“We know who these people in plainclothes are and we will also come in the same outfit to deal with them,” the MQM leader warned.
