MILLERS ARE MINTING MONEY. JAM MEHTAB HUSSAIN DAHAR

Provincial Minister for food and health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that the owners of flour mills are making money at the cost of people’s health and causing a great loss to government exchequer. This he said in a statement issued here on Monday. He said that the importers had purchased 6.5 lac metric tons low quality wheat from Russia and Ukraine at the rate of 260 to 287 dollar per ton and total payment was made from 161900000 dollars to 186550000 dollars and they had done so in order to get more profit and grinding low quality wheat. He added, ‘Through this act the millers will get profit of more than 15000000 dollars and this will affect the people of Pakistan in general and people of Sindh in particular. Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that 18 lac metric tons good quality wheat is lying in government and private sector godowns. He said that on one hand the millers were minting money while grinding and importing low quality wheat and other hand causing loss to government exchequer. He demanded the federal government to take immediate notice of the situation.

MINISTER HEALTH DIRECTS TO PROVIDE HEALTH FACILITIES TO PATIENTS

Provincial Minister for food and health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, while taking serious notice of the death of two children in Mithi and Chachoro the other day, has directed DHOs Mithi and Chachoro to take immediate measures to provide relief to the patients admitted in hospitals. He said that the malnutrition was not the only cause of the death of the newly born children in Tharparkar, there were many other reasons such as severe cold and ignorance to basic hygiene rules. He said that vigilance teams had been formed to monitor the situation and they would ensure that all health facilities were being provided to the patients. He told six senior doctors/officers of grade 20/19 have been deputed to Drought-hit areas till further order. He said that medicines and funds have been provided to the hospitals and there is no dearth of medicines, funds and staff in drought-hit areas and government is committed to help out the people of Thar.

The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today paid surprise visit of different parts and routes of mourning processions to inspect and get updated information about security measures adopted by Sindh Police to maintain law and order situation during Muharran-ul-Haram. The Special Assistants to CM Sindh Waqar Mehdi and Rashid Rabbani, IG Police Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali, Additional IG Police Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqui and other officers of concerned districts were accompanied the Chief Minister Sindh during visit. During the visit CM Sindh drove from Kharadar towards Saddar, Tibat Centre, Radio Pakistan, Light House, Denso Hall, Bolton Market, Shahrah e Fasisal and Civic Centre. He stopped his Vehicle, came out of it and inspected the cordon of Security of the routes by walk at different places.
Talking to media at Saddar area, the CM Sindh said that he is consistently putting his eyes and vigilance over the security at all over Sindh and added that sanctity of Muharram-ul-Haram would be maintained at any cost. He said that no one will be allowed to disturb the peace and who so ever found involved in this act would be dealt with iron hands. He said that we have made huge investment to enhance the capacity building of the Sindh Police and now it was competent enough to face the security challenges. He said that in addition to provide resources, he himself was monitoring the situation and this visit was also chain of strategy. Expressing his satisfaction over the security arrangements the CM Sindh said that with the grace of God, the situation has remained in control till 8th of Muharram and hopefully 9th and 10th Muharrm would also passed peacefully. Responding a question about the ban on Cell phone service on 9th and 10th Muharram, CM Sindh said that this depends on the situation of today. To another question about the security threats, he replied that Sindh Government was receiving threats since long but we are not afraid of it but facing the situation with success.
Later on, the Chief Minister Sindh drove towards Civic Centre, where he inspected security surveillance system being operated at Police Control and Command Centre. He inquired about the working of the system from the employees and IG Sindh Police Ghulam Hyder Jamali.
Briefing the CM Sindh, IG Sindh informed that about 1000 cameras so for have been linked with this surveillance system at Civic Centre to monitor about 250 locations in city. He said that 800 similar cameras have also been linked with such surveillance system established in Police Head Quarter, 180 cameras at different traffic sections in the city. He said 200 separate CCTV cameras have been installed at routes of mourning processions and added that 2000 more powerful cameras are being provided by United States and would be added in system within a month time. While briefing about the deployment of Sindh Police to maintain law and order during Muharrm ul Haram, the IG Sindh Police claimed that about 75000 police force including personnels from regular, Sindh Police, its Special, Crime, Traffic, BOD Branches and 2000 specil commandos force have been deployed for the security across the province. He said that deployment of 9500 Rangers force was in addition to that. He said that on 8th Muharram deployment of 27924 police personnel have been made to ensure 950 mourning processions in the province. Similarly 30810 personnel would provide security to 1303 mourning processions on 9th Muharram. While 34165 police personnel to provide security to 1537 processins on 10th Muharram ul Haram. On this occasion, the CM Sindh talking to media men said that his government has made huge investment to enhance the capacity of Sindh Police and now it was capable to meet any challenge of law and order. Responding the question about ISIS presence in Karachi, CM Sindh ruled out such impression about its availability in Karachi and said that no such evidence so for is available for its existence. However he made it clear that Taliban and Al-Qaeda elements are reported in Karachi and we the Sindh Government is fighting against their terrorism with success. To another question the CM Sindh said that we are putting strict vigilance and investigating the presence of ISIS with reference to claim made by politicians and if found the same in the city we are competent enough to face them with success, he added.
