LARKANA: The members of Mehran Government Contractors Association (MGCA) on Wednesday continued their protest for consecutive 63rd day here in front of Larkana Press Club for removal of Superintending Engineer (SE) and other concerned officials of provincial highway department on issuing the contracts of development schemes to their favorites and involving in massive corruption.
Speaking on the occasion, leaders of Mehran Government Contractors Association (MGCA) Larkana Saeed Jatoi, Riaz Langah, Inyat Hussain, Abdul Latif Langah, and others astonished that despite of public cry and ongoing protests against the SE Taj Muhammad Mahar, PPP government gave him additional charge of SE Works and Services Department Larkana, he was enjoying a charge of SE Kamber Shahdadkot and did nothing for development, they alleged that due to apathy of bureaucrats and local PPP leaders of Larkana, no planning has been made for the beautification and development of Larkana city and, outsider are posted in Larkana with additional charges of other cities who are unable to pay attention to Larkana resulting city turned into the ruins, all the development schemes and mega projects works are being awarded to their favorites and partner contractors by different departments on huge commission.
They told that SE Taj Muhammad Mahar is holding several charges of SE provincial highway Sukkur and Larkana and others did not bother to sit at his office at Larkana single time in a week and only paying attention to collect the commission, they alleged.
Contractors further stated that concerned officials of Provincial highway department have violated the rules of PEPRA and awarded the contracts of several development schemes to their partner contractors on huge commission and ignored to professional government contractors.
They said that concerned officials have paid bills of millions rupees of fake development schemes without MB and other formalities, SE, XEN and Assistant Executives Engineers of Provincial Highway department are involved in embezzlement of millions rupees.
They said that Anti Corruption Police led by Circle Officer Kamber Shahdadkot Paryal Morio raided at office of Executive Engineer Provincial Highway Division Larkana allegedly making payment to man having fake revenue record at Miro Khan, no action was taken against the concerned officials involved in embezzlement and fraud of millions rupees.
They appealed to Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan, Chairman NAB, and other high ups to take notice of matter conduct the impartial inquiry against the SE provincial highway department Larkana and other officials and remove the corrupt officers.

LARKANA: A Polio worker was gunned down by armed men at Sabzi Mandi Larkana on Wednesday.
Five armed men opened indiscriminate firs on Faiz Muhammad Shaikh (40) while he was sitting his father,s shop at Sabzi Mandi Larkana, in then jurisdiction of Haidri Police Station, he was rushed to CMC Hospital emergency ward Larkana where succumbed to his injuries.
The body of deceased was handed over to his heirs after the medico legal formalities.
Relatives of deceased told media men that deceased Faiz Muhammad Shaikh was a Vaccinator at DHO office Larkana, no case of incident was registered till the filling of news.

LARKANA: Lease out documents of one acre land of Forest department issued by Larkana Development Authority (LDA) Larkana proved fake, LDA after verification wrote letter to Deputy Commissioner Larkana and termed lease letter fake and fabricated here on Monday.
Assistant Secretary Larkana Department Authority letter no 6170 dated 22 June 2015 sent to Deputy Commissioner Larkana, stated that lease out one acre plot at Phul road named Gada Hussain s/o Muhammad Umar resident of Murad Wahan Larkana is bogus and there is no record of lease with LDA office.
He apprised that he took charge of Assistant Secretary LDA on 12 December 2014, previous all record of LDA was taken away by Ex: Assistant Secretary Noor Nabi Shaikh, Deputy Commissioner Larkana has conducted the inquiry against him, said in letter.
It is pertinent to mention here that Assistant Secretary Larkana Development Authority LDA Larkana few days back leased out to one acre land of Range Forest Officer Larkana situated at Phul road Larkana in favor of Gada Hussain son Muhammad Umar resident of Murad Wahan area Larkana on 13-4- 2015, lease no CDA/LRK68, influential person had deployed the armed men at site and was press hard to vacate the plot from Forest department.
DFO Arshad Kamario who made hue and cry over the illegal lease and wrote to Deputy Commissioner Larkana and other high ups for taking notice of matter, after that DC Larkana got lease letter verified from LDA which proved fake.
HEAT STROKE RELIEF CAMPS ESTABLISHED IN SHIKARPUR

SHIKARPUR: District Administration Shikarpur has set up 10 heat stroke first aid relief camps in 04 Taluka of District Shikarpur in order to provide medical treatment to the heat stroke affected patients when the people of the District of deadly facing the problem of heat stroke since last two weeks.
The District Administration Shikarpur has informed that 10 heat stroke relief camps including 01 at Lakhi Gate Shikarpur, 02 at Khanpur town, 02 Lakhi Ghulam Shah town, 02 in Chak town, 01 in Rahim Abad, 01 in Raidho village and 01 in Madeji town, where the patients would be registered and the medical first aid would be provided them. While serious sun stroke patients would be referred to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur for further medical treatment at the emergency centre.
This action has been taking on the directions of Sindh government after the hundreds of the heat stroke patients lost their precious lives during the recent period of heat biting attack in various places of the province including Karachi.
The public servants of Shikarpur District have welcomed the early action of announcing the one day holiday by honorable Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to provide early relief of the heat stroke to the government and save their lives when Almighty Allah was pleased to change the season pleasant by giving cloudy cover and cold wind.

SHIKARPUR: A man identified as 25-years old Koral Chandio was murdered while a woman 23-years old Mst Farzana was seriously injured in the firing by Abdul Razzaque Chandio and others near Mando Phatak area within the jurisdiction of New Fudjari Police Station on Tuesday late night.
The dead body of the deceased Koral Chandio was handed over to his heirs after having conducted post-mortem examination from District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur. While the injured woman Mst Farzana was referred to Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Larkana in serious condition for further medical treatment.
The condition of the injured woman was reported out of danger, police said.
The cause behind the incident was said to be the matter of Karo-Kari, police said.
The Station House Officer (SHO) New Fujdari Abdul Hameed Khakhrani has registered the First Investigation Report (FIR) on behalf of state against Abdul Razzaque Chandio and others. No any arrest was made till this story was filed.
HUJ SLAMS HESCO FOR HARASSING SENIOR JOURNALIST

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Union of Journalists (Dastoor) president Farhan Effendi and general secretary Abbas Kassar have condemned the unbecoming and harsh attitude of Hesco officials who were fund constantly harassing a senior journalist and member of HUJ Afsar Mir Khan under excuse of his electric bill. Effendi said in 2008 the Hesco staff took away meter and other apparatus of power supply from his home when the bill was 6000.But in few years despite no meter at his home the Hesco sent bill of Rs,200,000. He lamented the injustice on part of federal ombudsman who instead of providing justice to Afsar Mir Khn disposed his application without decision. Feeling harassment by Hesco staff he lost his wife who died of cancer during that period. Now his children were living with his sister and the journalist has become mental and was under treatment in mental hospital Hussainabad. HUJ president has made appeal to federal minister for power and water Khawja Asif, state minister Abid Sher Ali, Hesco chief Saleem Jaat to take action against Hesco staff harassing the journalist and to withdraw any action against him on account of any bill.
AFTER WATER, POWER, GAS NOW CRISIS OF PHONE

HYDERABAD: Like other parts of Sindh Hyderabad is also facing the worst crisis of power due to ever increasing unscheduled load shedding of electricity in this scorching heat but water dearth of water has added the miseries of people as in many localities of city like Affendi town and adjoining areas of Al-Noor and others there is no water for drinking since last 4 months and even no water for ablution in mosques during Taraweeh. No officer from Commissioner to SDO takes interest in soslving this crisis.
In other parts of Qasimabad like Memon Town, Akhtar Cottage, Bhitai town, Marvi Town, and Gulistan Sajjad the citizens are facing disconnection of PTCL telephone lines along with water, power and gas. The residents say they had filed complained since last 15 days but there was no response from PTCL authorities. They have demanded to correct the phone lines and also to provide water to their areas as also to end the menace of load shedding.

HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples has been looting the wealth of Sindh as booty and has broken records of corruption. This was stated by Sindh National Party central leader Ashraf Noonari addressing Iftar Party in SNP office here. He said the sister of Asif Ali Zardari was ruling Sindh since last 7 years as de facto ruler and due to her desire of amassing more wealth Sindh has been made target of loot and plunder, He said since last 40 years dictators like Gen. Zia and Gen.Mushraf tried best to break PPP but they failed and now Asif Zardari has accomplished that task within 7 years. He said when all those officers arrested by Rangers were confessing corruption and telling that big portion of their corruption money was sent to Bilawal house then it was necessary for security agencies including Rangers to bring the facts to nation as who was recipient and action be taken against him.

GHOTKI: Enraged citizens of Sukkur blocked G.T road, burnt tyres and demonstrated a protest on Monday.
A large number of citizens who were fed up with prolong load shedding in the holy month of Ramadan from Shah Khalid Colony, Military Road, New Pind, and Nao Goth took out to the roads, burnt tyres and blocked G.T road near Shikarpur Phattak for at least two hours.
Later, mob entered with wood sticks in Sukkur Electric and Power Company (SEPCO) office at Golimar road and sabotaged SEPCO property in the reaction of load shedding.
Talking to media, protestors said SEPCO officials are doing unscheduled load shedding upto 15 hours in the holy month of Ramadan while several transformers in the said areas are still not reinstalled after damage. Protestors demanded of the authorities to supply continuous electricity and reinstall the transformers to provide relief to the citizen otherwise they will block the national high way.
