APEX Committee meets at Sindh Assembly today

In view of the observations raised by Pakistan Rangers Sindh in the Apex Committee about financing of terrorists through different sources including Bhatta collection etc., the Government of Sindh has constituted a Committee/ Task Force under chairmanship of Mr. Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Sarwar Korai with Mr. Arjun Ram K. Talreja (Retd.) District & Session Judge and Mr. Mukhtiar Hussain Soomro, Home Secretary as Members. The Terms of Reference of the Committee are to examine report by Pakistan Rangers Sindh and evidences about various modes of terrorist financing, to fix responsibilities in the light of findings and to recommend pre-emptive, preventive and cognitive measures to Government of Sindh to curb such unlawful practices. Further, the Government of Sindh has also ordered Judicial Inquiry to be conducted by Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Sarwar Korai and Mr. Arjun Ram K. Talreja (Retd.) District & Session Judge, into the incident of scuffles and firing inside the Police Station Mominabad, Karachi.The first meeting of the Committee/ Task Force was held in the New Sindh Assembly Building today at the New Sindh Assembly Building, Karachi under the Chairmanship of Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Sarwar Korai which was attended by Mr. Arjun Ram K. Talreja (Retd.) District & Session Judge, Mr. Mukhtiar Hussain Soomro, Home Secretary Sindh, and Mr. Shahab Qamar Ansari Registrar Committee/ Task Force. During the meeting it was decided that the information/ evidence from concerned departments/ agencies and general public related to above mentioned matters may be solicited through public notices to be published in the leading newspapers. It was also decided that the meetings of the Committee/ Task Force will be held daily to expedite the findings and formulate recommendations for the Government of Sindh.

PCYO 30th Annual Naat Competition on June 27

30th Annual Naat Competition of Pakistan Crescent Youth Organization in collaboration with Commissioner Office & National forum for environment & health will be held on June 27, 2015 at 1.00 pm at Pearl Continental hotel, Karachi.
Students from Government and Private Schools of the city will take part in the contest. Students who are willing to take part in the competition can contact on phone number 021-35653676 & 021-35213853 for registration.
Ghazala Arif is the chief organizer of the program.
Chairman PCYO Nadeem Shaikh said we are organizing this event since last 30 years and large numbers of students have took part in the competition and our motive to organized this event to encourage the students about naat.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui will be the chief guest on the occasion.
