LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Friday ordered the regularization of 140 temporary employees of the National Highway Authority from 2009.
The counsel for the petitioners Hafiz Tariq Nasim argued that all other temporary employees of NHA had already been regularized in 2009 in line with the government policy but since then petitioners were ignored without any plausible reason and lawful justification. It was further pleaded that all petitioners fulfill the criteria of regularization and still working on daily wages for last several years with NHA without any break.
The division bench comprising of Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan and Justice Shahid Mubeen after hearing the detailed arguments advanced by either side and perusal of record, directed the government for regularization on case to case basis strictly in line with the government policy of regularization from 2009 along with their other colleagues.
