Journalist shot dead in Gambat

KHAIRPUR: Journalist killed by armed persons near Gambat on Wednesday.
According to detail journalist and reporter of private T.V Channel Dharti Jewan Arain was going to Gambat from Khuhra on his motor cycle alon with another person Bachal Rind, when reached at some distance in the jurisdiction of Gambat police station, two armed persons attacked and fired upon him with pistol, resulting Jewan Arain died on the spot.
The dead body of journalist brought to taluka hospital and later hand over to his relatives.
Gambat police has arrested Bachal Rind for introgation.
On received information large number of journalists, notables, and citizents reached at hospital later alonmg with body blocked national highw ay for many hours and after assured from administartion that culprits will be arrest very soon, they end protest.

KHAIRPUR: Police calimed to killed notorious criminal in encounter, my brother was arrested four days ago and killed fake encounter on Wednesday.
According to detail ASP city Masood Bangash while talking to news man on Wednesday, that on spy information when a baberloi police party reached near Wisrio Wahan, when criminals whose were already present saw the police party they fired upon them resulted police also replied the fires and following exchange of fires from both side one notorious dacoit Shamsuddin alias Shaman Bhutto was killed while other his four accomplished escaped. He said said police also recovered one K.K and big quantity of cartidiges from his possession.

The body of criminal brought to civil hospital Khairpur later hand over to his relatives after legal formalities.
Mean while Ibrahim Bhutto brother killed criminal told news man that his brother was arrested by Baberloi police four days ago and killed him in a fake encounter.
He said that his deceased brother doing Hikmat and he was not involed any crime, he appealed the Supreme Court to take suemoto in this regard and provide justice to him and his family.

People of Sindh welcomed the introduction orf Senior Citizen Bill in SA and urged get it passed at earliest

SUKKUR: People of Sindh including educationists, Journalists, politicians, Lawyers and Social developers on Wednesday has warmly welcomed the Sindh Provincial Government for formally introduced Senior Citizens Welfare Bill, 2014 in the Sindh Assembly (SA) and urged get it passed at earliest.
They requested to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah to accord special consideration to this bill and get it approved as soon as possible from the Assembly for the benefit of deserving senior citizen as the senior citizen would pray for them and the prosperity of the country.
Programme Manager, Help Age International, Sindh chapter Shahzado Khaskheli welcomed the Sindh Government over its introduction of Senior Citize`s Bill in Sindh Assembly, he believes that people from all ages should live comfortable lives. “We have to make provisions from time to time; the bill should be passed from assembly at the earliest, as these respectable persons are the most important aspects of our society, he urged the opposition parties that they must actively participate in this process as it is a national cause.
He further said that elderly people were the largest segment of the population in the world and that Pakistan was the sixth most populous country in the world with 6.8 percent of its population comprising elderly people, the count would grow to 15.8 percent by 2050, he added.
The Focal Person of Help Age International projects and Manager Health, Dr Mansoor Ali while appreciating the Sindh Government’s efforts over this bill said that the approval of senior citizen bill by the Sindh Assembly will bring positive changes in the lives of senior citizens across the province.
He said that the elderly people had special needs in terms of food, health and accessibility of other services and this should be addressed by the government, humanitarian and development organisations and other stakeholders.
Our elderly have the treasure of wisdom, knowledge, values and experience that they can share with us, Dr Mansoor added.
A renowned Social Worker Muhammad Saleem Bhutti termed the historical step of the Sindh Government and said this bill will further protect rights of the senior citizens in the province. The developed countries have gone an extra mile to provide relief to senior citizens, but we have yet to make the law he said and added that this has resulted in depriving the elderly people of their basic rights.
He urged the Sindh Minister for parliamentary Affairs Dr Sikandhar Mendhro and all MPAs to approve this as soon as possible.
The renowned educationist Ms Yasmeen Shah hailed the introduction of bill and said that the Senior citizens deserve incentives in their life such as health, food, travelling, housing, entertainment and welfare.
“I urge the CM Sindh to take special attention and members of the Assembly should play their historical role to pass this bill and fully realize the hopes of all the elderly People to be more secure in their health and medical needs in their most vulnerable years,
President Khairpur Press Club and Senior Journalist Khan Muhammad Khan said Saying the bill is a token of appreciation to all the province’s elders who have made a significant contribution in society,
He said that the state has the responsibility to treat senior citizens with the respect and dignity they deserve because they have a significant role to play and contribution to make in the transformation of the country.
Commenting the issue, Ex MPA Dr Nasarullah Baloch welcomed the introduction of Senior Citiz`s bill before the SA and said that the early approve of the bill was imperative to provide a comprehensive social welfare system and cover millions of senior citizens of the Sindh.
Former President Sukkur Bar Council, Qurban Malano said that after the approval of senior citizen bill maximum rights would be available to the senior citizens,.
He urged the government for an early enactment of senior citizens bill to institutionalise arrangements for the welfare of senior citizens reduce prices of daily-use items and adopt an effective corrective action through price regulation and financial compensation to facilitate fixed income groups.
Features of the bill
The Senior Citizens Welfare Bill, 2013, suggested establishing a council for welfare of senior citizens. The social welfare minister will be its chairperson while the secretaries of the social welfare, finance, health, education, local government and Zakat departments will be members. Meanwhile, two representatives from non-governmental organisations and two members of the provincial assembly will be nominated as council members to raise funds and donations from other sources.
“After the law is passed, NADRA will issue special ID cards to senior citizens,” said Ahmed. “This card called ‘Freedom Card’ will entitle elderly people to avail special facilities.” Ahmed explained the card will ensure the settlement of all retirement benefits, such as pensions, before reaching the date of superannuation.
The bill will also provide special counters at pension receiving booths, set up separate wards with free medical treatment at public hospitals, provide free entry in public parks, museums, zoos, cinemas, theatres, public libraries and other related places, have special counters to be established in banks, post offices, PIA, railways and other places. The bill has also suggested providing concession in fares.
Apart from this, the government will establish ‘geriatric care facilities’ in all district-level hospitals in the province. “Senior citizens day care centres will be set up to provide to their physical, mental and recreational needs,” stated the law. “No taxes shall be charged by any department, bank or institution on incomes and profits earned by senior citizens.”
The government will also prepare a policy for the welfare of the elderly, enshrining the Islamic principle of ‘adl’ and ‘ahsan’ to enable them to live with security and dignity. This policy will be formulated after consulting various stakeholders, such as NGOs and members of the social welfare department. “The council may execute a memorandum of understanding with the ministry of zakat and Baitul Maal to provide money for medical treatment and other financial assistance to the elderly people,” the law said.

YOUTH KILLED ANOTHER INJURED ON 10TH MUHARRAM.

SHIKARPUR: youth killed and his brother injured in firing when he was returning from graveyard situated at Bhutta Village within the jurisdiction of Gharhi Yasin police station on 10thMuharram Tuesday morning.
According to details two brothers identified as Sajjad Ahmed Dayo, 28, and his brother Javeed Ahmed Dayo, 25, were returning from graveyard after offering pray on their parents and they were going to house situated at Ratodero district Larkana then two motorcyclist armed men intercepted them on gun point and tried to snatch motorcycle and other valuables and on resisting armed men open indiscriminate firing on Sajjad Ahmed as a result he was killed on the spot and his brother Javeed Ahmed receive bullet injuries and armed men ran away from scene with youths motorcycle.
Area people and police reached on the spot and body of deceased and injured youth moved to the Gharhi Yasin hospital for conducting post-mortem and treatment for injured youth.
On that occasion duty doctor told to media person injured youth javeed Ahmed Dayo is out of danger.
After conducting post-mortem body of deceased handed over to his relatives.
Source said the Dayo family was basically residential of Gharhi Yasin Bhutta Village but some year back they have shifted to Taluka Ratodero district Larkana therefore youths came to graveyard for offering pray to their parents and that ill-fated incident occurred.
FIR was not registered till this news was flashed on Wednesday evening.
No any culprits were arrested. Further police investigation into the matter.
