KARACHI: The Director Regulation, Irrigation Department Karachi has directed to the Chief Engineers of Irrigation Department, Guddu Barrage Sukkur, Sukkur Barrage Left Bank Sukkur, Sukkur Barrage Right Bank Larkana, Chief Kotri Barrage Hyderabad and MD SIDA Hyderbad to take necessary measures as per Bund manual to combat flood, the filed staff were also directed to be remain vigilant and patrol all along the river bunds especially along vulnerable points to avoid any untoward incident due to present rainfalls in catchment areas of all rivers.
According to the letter, the Department apprised that, it is expected to rise in discharge will reach at Gudu Barrage on 10 September 2014 and low to Medium Flood is expected Guddu Barrage on 11 to 12 September 2014.
IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT DIRECTS OFFICERS TO REMAIN AT HEAD QUARTER ROUND THE CLOCK
KARACHI: The Irrigation Department has cancelled the leave of officials / officers of Irrigation Department in wake of heavy rainfall started throughout country.
The irrigation Department further directed all the Chief Engineers of Irrigation, MD SIDA Hyderabad and Project Directors of the Department to ask all the subordinate officers and officials to remain in headquarters for round the clock, also keep their cell and landline phone on as well as monitor bunds of Indus River regularly.
The Department warned that in case of failure, the delinquent officer will be placed under suspension and disciplinary proceedings under RSO-2000 will be initiated against them.
