India violates ceasefire at LoC

After a pause of two days, India on Monday resumed ’unprovoked’ firing and mortar shelling near the Kailer sector in Bagh on the Line of Control (LoC) , according to an ISPR press release.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army ‘befittingly responded to Indian unprovoked firing. However, no casualties were reported from either side of the LoC.
Later on in the evening, Indian troops violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked firing in Nezapir sector near Rawlakot on LoC.
Exchanges of sporadic fire are common along the de facto border dividing the region, despite a ceasefire pact signed in 2003. But the extent and intensity of the latest violence and the number of civilian deaths is unusual.
