: Sindh senior Minister for Information, Archives and Irrigation Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that the federal government has a big responsibility of addressing the concerns of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and should without fail initiate the process so that the issue of resignations of the MQM lawmakers should be resolved amicably.

He said this on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations at the Karachi Press Club Friday. He cut a 1000 pound Independence Day Cake on the occasion.

It would be unjust to declare the collective resignations as the blackmailing tactic of the MQM because it is their constitutional right, like any other political party, to tender resignations any time.

However, tendering the collective resignations is a major act of an extreme, which should be avoided, said the Sindh senior Minister, adding that only the dialogue is the final key to the resolution of al the disputes and concerns, which must be promoted and encouraged.

The MQM has not opposed the ongoing targeted operation in the metropolis but has demanded for the formation of a Monitoring Committee, he said.

The ongoing targeted operation is not against any particular group of party but is being conducted across the board, he added.

He said that the changes in the bureaucracy are part of administrative set-up of the province, which should not bother anyone.
