Imran Khan orders preparations for ‘Azadi March’

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan Saturday issued instructions to his party workers to finalize preparations for his planned ‘Azadi March’ on Islamabad on August 14.

In his letter to Ejaz Chaudhry, the party president for Punjab, Imran Khan issued directives for mobilization of youth at district and Tehsil levels to ensure their participation in what is expected to be a big show on Independence Day in the capital city of Pakistan.

He ordered for immediate arrangements for busses, trucks and other vehicles so that no difficulty is faced in carrying the participants and supplies in a form of caravan to the venue of ‘Azadi March’.

The PTI Chief also directed the party office bearers and ticket holders to work in collaboration to set up registration camps. “Two camps be set up in every National Assembly constituency and one camp each in provincial constituency,” he added.

He said a list containing names of the participants of ‘Azadi March’ be prepared. He also set an aim for 100,000 motor cyclists to be part of the march.

Imran Khan cautioned the party workers of ‘government’s negative propaganda’ and alerted them to deal with any challenging situation ahead.

Terming his ‘Azadi March’ a decisive phase in the country’s history, he said the event will pave the way for democracy and independence in their true sense and spirit.
