HYDERABAD: Protest demonstration was held by journalists under banner of Hyderabad Union of Journalists in front of press club here Saturday against media trial of Bol TV channel before its launching and rendering future of 2000 plus employees of the channel bleak by being jobless.
The protest was led by Farhan Effendi president Hyderabad Union of Journalists (dastoor) and Mansoor Mari general secretary Press Club Hyderabad.General secretary of HUJ Abbas Kassar, vice president Akhtar Pirzada, joint secretary Haroon Arain, members governing body Syed Noor Alam Shah, Dr,Kosar and scores of other journalists of Hyderabad.
They were chanting slogans in favour of Bol TV channel and its more than 2000 employees who were to suffer most as if the channel is closed before start the working journalists would lose their jobs.
Talking on the occasion Farhan Effendi said journalists in Pakistan were already under various kinds of oppression and violence and world community has declared Pakistan as country dangerous for journalists.
He said after media trial of Bol TV were hands of other TV channels who were opposing vehemently launching of this channel. He demanded stopping media trial of Bol and to make secure the livelihood of thousands of employees of the channel.
He also criticized partial attitude of federal government against the Bol and its management as well journalists working there.
SENIOR JOURNALIST MISSING AFTER ARREST BY HUSRI POLICE

HYDERABAD: Senior journalist and general secretary of press club Husri district Hyderabad Ramzan Brohi was missing since May 24 when he was arrested by masked police men from Jatoi petrol pump on Hyderabad Tando Muhammad Khan road. In this regard the journalists of Hyderabad led by Farhan Effendi president Hyderabad Union of JournalistsAbbas Kassar and others as well journalists from Husri and relatives of missing journalist held protest demonstration here. The relatives told that despite order of Hyderabad court Husri police was ot registering case and SSP Hyderabad was expressing his ignorance of arrest of journalist. They said on orders of court all SHOs of police stations of district have stated that no case was filed against the journalist yet police was not disclosing his whereabout. They said that Ramzan always has exposed police atrocities in his news that was why he was forcibly disappeared. They expressed apprehension that Ramzan Brohi might be killed by police in its traditional fake encounter. The relatives and Hyderabad journalists demanded immediate release of missing journalist.
HRCP visits remote area human rights violation
LARKANA: A team of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan district Kamber Shahdadkot led by Dildar Silero and Murad Pandrani visited the village of victim of fire 35 year old Dildar Shaikh who was allegedly burnt to death alive after tied rope and chain with tree few days back and shaking the conscious of entire humanity and sheer human rights violation.
HRCP team met with relatives of deceased Dildar Shaikh at village Haji Ranjho Khan Shaikh near Wagan town district Kamber Shahdadkot and inquired their problems and collected the information about the incident.
Manthar Ali Shaikh father of victim told HRCP team about the incident and said that they had no enmity with others, his son was labor, ” we want the justice, all involved accused should be punished exemplary” .
HRCP team visited the crime scene which found 30 to 35 feet surrounding areas of tree torched, team also held meeting with different local people and collected the evidences then met with SHO Wagan Wahid Bux Lashari who apprised the about the progress of case and told that on the directives of SSP Kamber Shahdadkot Safraz Nawaz Shaikh, an inquiry team has been constituted under the supervision of DSP Nasirabad to probe into the incident , however, case of incident already lodged, further investigation is in progress.
Later HRCP team visited the local hospital and collected the information from Dr Sarfraz Jatoi who conducted the postmortem of deceased Dildar Shaikh, he told that during the postmortem, no sign of any torture was found on his body, death caused by burning of entire body.
Villagers among Muhammad Saifal, Pir Bux, Gulzar, Mashooq, and others told that incident took place two Kilometer off from village at agricultural land, they were informed about the incident at evening time when they reached scene body of was burnt and tied rope and chain with tree and they identified him by face.
LARKANA: Sindh University Campus Larkana in collaboration with Higher Education arranged a one-day National Seminar on “University and Industry Linkage” here at Larkana.
The program was largely attended by students of MBA, faculty members, representatives of different banks and industries.

SHIKARPUR: Pirbhat Women’s Development Society organized a one day training workshop on the subject “Child Marriages” in collaboration with Aahung and Navaib for Higher Secondary Teachers of Shikarpur at Shikarpur Press Club here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion Pirbhat activist Robina Chandio highlighted the issues of underage marriages.

MAJLIS TO TAKE PART IN LB ELECTION IN SINDH

HYDERABAD: Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen has announced it would take part in local bodies elections in Sindh and hoped to get sufficient seats. In a statement issued by district media coordinator of MWM Hyderabad district Asim Mirza deplored that Sindh government has failed in every walk of life from law and order to corruption and also failed to improve the local bodies system as in almost all towns and cities one can see heaps of garbage and ponds of choked gutter water. He said Majlis has finalized its preparations for local bodies elections and has invited applications from would be candidates.He hoped to get sufficient seats and to ameliorate the sufferings of people.
MATIARI POLICE DISMENTLE RIND VILLAGE DESPITE INJUNCTION, KIDNAP 6 INCLUDING 2 CHILDREN

HYDERABAD: The villages of Allah Dino Rind of Pir Muhalla, Bhitshah have complained that police mobiles of Bhitshah, Hala and Matiari police raided their village like dacoits and pulled down their 9 homes and 10 shops without provocation and made them homeless. They alleged police took away their belongings and whisked away their animals. They accused police of kidnapping their 6 men including 2 children of 12 and 13 years. Addressing news conference at press club here the villagers said police kidnapped their elderman Ghulam Rasool,Rawat, Mehboob, Dilber, 12 years Zahid and 13 years Waryam. They alleged that since police raid their 8 years girl Farzana was missing. They said SHC Hyderabad circuit bench had issued orders not to harass them but yet police threw court order in dust bin and attacked their village pulled down their homes, took away belongings, whisked away animals and kidnapped 6 persons including 2 children. They alleged that police had committed crime against peaceful villages and also contempt of court on behest of Wadera Muhammad Khan Junejo, Abbas Kaka and Hussain Ali Faqir. They demanded justice from prime minister, corps commander, chief minister and court to save them from police cruelties and recover their kidnapped persons.
HEPATITIS EMPLOYEES PROTEST DHARNA FOR REGULARISATION OF SERVICES

HYDERABAD: Around 350 employees of Hepatitis control program staged protest dharna against delay in regularizing their services despite orders of high court.The sit in was staged outside office of directorate general health Sindh and was led by Dr. Abdul Rehman, Dr.Mumtaz Chandio, Yasir Arfat, Hizbullah Noonari and Dr.Rabia Rajper. The leaders said that Sindh High Court had issued order on 30 March this year yet after passage of nearly a month government has not acted on court orders and not issued notification for regularization of their services which they said was clear contempt of court. They said Sindh assembly had passed a bill under which the government has regularized 480 employees of youth program and staff of Lyari medical college but was delaying regularization of 350 hepatitis employees. They said finding no option they have now come on roads by closing all centers in Sindh. They vowed to continue their protest until the notification regularizing their services was not issued.

HYDERABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (N) took out a rally to commemorate the day of Pakistan being atomic power 17 years ago. The rally was led by Hanif Siddiqui district president of party which was attended among others by general secretary Syed Shahid Ali, Nadeem Malik, Abdul Waheed Inqilabi, Badar Soomro, Ayub Rajput, Shahid Gopang, Kaleem Shaikh, Waris Mughal, Mir Khan Talpur, Shabbir Thebo,Naseer Qureshi, Turab Ali and others. The rally was taken out from Hyder Chowk which marching on main roads reached press club where addressing rally district president Hanif Siddiqui said it was journey of 17 years led by Mian Muhammad Sharif that has made Pakistan from atomic to economic power. He paid tributes to leadership of Nawaz Sharif adding that despite pressure on international level their leader made Pakistan 7th big atomic power of world. He said that on this auspicious occasion they pledge that despite hindrance PML will make Pakistan as Asian tiger.
