GRAND DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE TO LAUNCH CONTACT OF PEOPLE CAMAIGN SOON: FIRST RALLY ON 25 MARCH: PALIJO

Qaumi Awami Tehrik president Ayaz Latif Palijo has said that Grand Democratic Alliance was to launch campaign of peoples contract and in this regard first rally will be taken out on 25 March from Hyderabad to Umerkot. He said leaders of various political parties who are members of GDA will lead the rally. Similarly on next day rally will be taken out from Mithi to Hyderabad passing from Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan. He said in this way GDA will take out rallies across Sindh to meet people and unite them on issues against corruption, terrorism, devastation of agriculture, rigging and untimely death of innocent children in Thar. This he said while addressing news conference at Palijo House in Qasimabad. He said decision of such peoples contact campaign was taken out after consultation between leaders of GDA of which he was now making announcement. He said rallies would be led by Sadruddin Shah Rashdi, Arbab Rahim, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, Syed Jalal Shah, Mumtaz Bhutto, Ayaz Latif Palijo and other leaders. He made appeal to people of Sindh to come out on roads to protest against bad governance of rulers in Sindh. He expressed concern on fast changing situation in country. He said Council of Common Interest (CCI) was going to hold session and he apprehended that it might postpone population census. As such they demand to carry out census anyhow for future and right planning. He asked for counting of 15 million houses of Sindh. He said Sindh alone generates 70% revenue of country. Sindh is rich with oil, gas, natural resources and sea ports. Sindh must be given its due right in NFC and other matters. He said they participated in APC of Sindh government , now it was upto government to clarify its stand in case if census was postponed. He said Sindh was under pressure of influx of illegal immigrants. He said they should be counted to know their figure but shall not be given right of vote, NIC and owning properties. He asked NAB to catch big fishes instead of small ones. Noor Ahmed Katiar, Anwar Soomro and Qadir Ranto were present on the occasion.

HUMAN RIGHTS FORUM PROTEST AGAINST MEHRAN UNIVERSITY FOR OCCUPYING LAND OF LOCAL VILLAGERS ON FORCE

Pakistan Human Rights Forum along with affected villagers of Khosa community of Deh Sonwalhar held protest demonstration in front of press club here against Mehran university of Engineering an Technology Jamshoro alleging that university has occupied villagers 48 acres land on force and has deployed armed force. They said that land in question belongs to them of which there was revenue record in office of Mukhtiarkar Kotri. The villagers said university administration was threatening them to prosecute them in anti terrorist court if they resisted. The protest demonstration was led by chairman PHRF Mehboob Sangi, Dr. Qasim Soomro, Shabnam Rajpoot, Ali Akbar, Rubina,Javed Pirzada, Raza Rajpoot and number of villagers led by Kamil Khoso.Villagers said they were owners of land since 1961 the record was available in office of Mukhtiarkar Kotri. They made appeal to chief justice, prime minster,chief minister and higher authorities to take notice of injustice with them and help recover their land from Mehran university.

MQM ASKSS NAB TO PROBE H.D.A ALLOTMENT OF 20800 ACRES LAND TO RUBYCON GROUP

Mutehida Qaumi Movement has teken exception on allotment of thousands acres of land in Taluka Latifabad by Hyerabad Development Authority to little or unknown company Rubycon. Addressing news conference at press club here Sunday Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of Mutehida Rabita Colmmittee an others said they wanted to expose the kings of corruption who were bent to looting and plundering the resource of Sindh including Hyderabad. They said supreme court as also transparency international have declared allotment of lands in Sindh as dubious and suspected but the rulers misusing authority and using H.D.A as their tool have allotted land in Sarmast zone meant for use of purposes of welfare of people, to Rubycon builders and developers private limited in contravention of rules an regulations. Others who were present included MNA Syed Waseem Hussain,Zonal incharge Naveed Shamsi, MPAs Sabir Qaimkhani, Dilawar Qureshi, Rashid Khilji. MQM leaders said H.D. A has allotted 2800 acres land of Sarmast zone which is not its property and in record of rights this land was still owned by Revenue department adding that 20800 acres another land of Ganjo Takar which is still under lease to Zeal Pak cement factory till 2017 has also been allotted by government using H.D.A as its tool to Rubycon.They questioned how can H.D.A make allotment of land which does not belong to it? Questioning who is owner of this Rubycon company, Mutehida demanded inquiry by NAB against not only H.D.A, but board of revenue, member utilization and also interrogation from Sindh chief minister. They expressed surprise that H.D.A which had launched many residential housing schemes including Gulshan, Quaid,Kohsan extension and Gulistan Sarmast has not completed them despite fact of receiving price of houses from thousands of allottees who were roaming from pillar to post for getting their homes but H.D.A instead has allotted thousands of acres of land to little known company overnight by passing objections of Haq Parsat elected representatives and violating rules an regulations. They demanded to cancel the land allotted to Rubycon and give this land to needy people on cheap rates otherwise they threatened to know doors of judiciary and will raise issue in assemblies.

People of Badin tributes the late Haji Abdul Ghafoor Junejo literary services in condolence reference

The literacy persons and senior journalists of district Badin paid a huge tribute to writer of Awarded book, “from the hearts” by Pakistan Writers’ Guild and others books of Sindh poetry “Ton Dar Ayes, Dard ja Darya, Asan ja shaer ee sada” Later Haji Abdul Ghafoor Junejo by Badin Press Club on Sunday,
The participants from the various lives including senior Journalists, elected representatives, representatives of civil society and others participated in the condolence reference and paid a huge tribute to the literary services of Late Haji Abdul Ghafoor Junejo. Speakers of the event, A young, poet, Amar Soomro, Journalist, Altaf Shah Memon, Abdullah Turk, Aijaz Ahmed Umrani, Senior Journalist, Abdul Latif Zargar, Khalid Abbasi, Raes Junejo, Mohammad Musa Jokhio, Sawabullah Junejo, Abdul Majeed Mallah and others applauded the simplicity and literary services of Late Haji Abdul Ghafoor Junejo and said that he was nice personality and he served the people without any avarice and greediness. He was the shining star of the literary persons of the Sindh and he was a person of top bureaucracy but he never committed any single penny as corruption and taught his family members and close friends to be always away from the corruption, speakers added.
On the occasion, Malik Illyas, President of Badin Press Club while paying the rich tribute to Late Haji Abdul Ghafoor Junejo said that he was a great personality and people of Badin has a proud on him because of his literary services in Sindhi language. He also encourage the junior journalists to write the real issues of the downtrodden and deprived people of Sindh, although, he was remained on the top bureaucracy but due to his simplicity and honesty he has not the home to live, he added.
Earlier, Noor Hassan Solangi, Social Secretary, Badin Press Club, warmly welcomed to the participants for participation in the event and Mr. Dodo Panhwar, Joint Secretary, Badin Press Club also paid vote of thanks at conclusion of the event.
