KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that Sindh Govt was fighting terrorism with full force and determination and he will not take sigh till the elimination of last terrorist.
He further said that Sindh Govt was making huge investment to strengthen and equip the Sindh Police with modern weapons, vehicles, APC, Bullet Proof vests and inducting 10,000 more corps and 2000 Retiredd Army commandos just to enable it to fight terrorists with success. This he said while addressing passing out parade of 29th Batch of Elite Police Course and 22th batch of Eaglet police course at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre Razakabad today. 503 corps from Elite and 140 from Eaglets force passed out from the centre.
Addressing the Ceremony, the Chief Minister Sindh said that terrorism was not the problem only of Sindh Province but it was the problem of whole country and we have determine to eradicate it with force with the help of other stake holders.
He said that in addition to budgetary allocation of Rs 42 Billion additional allocation of Rs 6.5 Billion has been released to Sindh Police to purchase the latest bullet proof vehicles APC and sophisticated weapon and directed IG Sindh to make the procurement as soon as possible but in transparent manner.
He said that today the condition of crime has been changed, and we must have to equip the Sindh Police with latest training as such Razakabad police Training centre and Saeedabad Police Centre were being upgraded to meet the requirements of present age. He announced Rs 15 million special grants each for Razakabad and Saeedabad Police Training Center.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that more than 30, 000 police personals have been provided latest training from this centre while recently inducted 10,000 police personals would also be provided such latest training. He said that his Govt was working on the project to engage Pak Army instructors for providing effective training to the Sindh Police personals on the modern lines.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that the Sindh Police and Rangers were fighting with the terrorism specially criminals for heinous crimes including terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, extortion and had rendered matchless sacrifices in this regard. Paying rich tributes to the police personals who embraced with Shahadat on Feb 13, 2014 at Razakabad Bomb Blast attack the Chief Minister Sindh said terrorists are cowered and always attacking from behind but they are failed in making the Sindh Police as weak.
He said that though there was no substitute of life but we acknowledged the services of martyred police personnel’s with Additional compensation of Rs 25 lac including Rs 20, Lac as regular. Besides Rs 5 Lac provided to each injured of Razakabad incident.
He said that Sindh Govt was considering a proposal to raise the compensation amount for the martyred police personals. He said that we to support and help the Sindh Police Administratively, morally, socially economically and professionally and planning to make the Sindh Police one of the best force in the region.
Later on talking to the Media men the Chief Minister Sindh said that it has been decided that Sindh Police would be strengthened in all respect. He said that terrorists have latest weapons and training but we to make Sindh Police more superior them terrorists and it to be converted into a one of the best fighting force of the region.
Responding a question about ex-Additional IG Karachi Police Shahid Hayat the Chief Minister said that Shahid Hayat is a good officer but we were compelled to transfer him in compliance of APPEX Court decision to avoid contempt of court. He said that it was not only Mr. Shahid Hayat but many officers of other department have been transferred to their original position.
To another question the Chief Minister Sindh said that operation against the dacoits in interior Sindh was also in progress and has yielded good result. However he said that Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas regions were most calm but little bit law & order in upper Sindh is being affected due to Baluchistan condition.
During the ceremony the Chief Minister inspected the passing out parade and took salute from the police personals. He also inspected demonstration for fighting with terrorism and also presented the prizes among the police personals on account of their best performance.
The IG Sindh Police Iqbal Mehmood also paid rich tributes to the Shuhda-e- Police. He said that his Deptt was planning to establish Cadet College on 300 Acres of Land at Dadu to provide qualitative academic facilities to the children of Sindh Police officials.
He said that the management of Rashid Abad education institute has already offered for free education to the children of the martyred police officials. He said his management was making efforts to modernize the Benazir Bhutto Police Training Center Razakabad and train the police personals on Modern lines.
3-Members committee to evolve price control mechanism and relief to during Holy Month of Ramzan

KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has constituted 3 member committee headed by provincial Minister Food Jam Mehtab Dahar with provincial Secretary Finance and Commissioner Karachi as members for evolving price control mechanism and proposals to provide relief to the poor of poorest during the Holy Month of Ramzan Sharif and so on. This he decided while presiding over high level meeting and video conferencing with all commissioners in the province to discuss and decide the strategy to control on the price hike, hoarding, black marketing and illegal profiteering during the Ramzan Sharif held at CM House Karachi today. The Sindh Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Dahar, Sindh Minister Information Sharjeel Enam MEmon , Advisor to CM for Finance & Energy Syed Murad Ali Shah , Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana, Provincial Secretaries- Finance, Food, Agriculture, Services, Consultant Rai Sikandar and Commissioner Karachi attended the meeting, while the Commissioner Larkana, Sukkur , Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas participated in deliberation through video link.
Addressing the meeting the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed the officers that effective price control mechanisms must be ensured in each Distt and division and he held responsible to commissioners and deputy commissioner concerned for implementation effectively. He said that the Assistant Commissioners/Mukhtiar Kar’s have already provided judicial powers for price control but hardly have they used to provide relief to the poor people.
He directed the Commissioners to put their revenue officers in the field and they to pay surprise visits open complain centrs, ensure the display of Govt control price list at sale point and eradicate middle man fleecing from the consumers.
He directed that officers specially the supply and prices control wing of Agriculture Deptt to ensure that prices of vegetables and fruits are same as at whole sale market for which they to arrange such outlets in the areas concerned.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that though he to ask for restoration of Magistrate System in the CCI meeting to be held tomorrow at Islamabad but it to take time to implement in case of affirmative, as it has to pass from Assembly as such revenue Magistrate must be on toe.
Taking the notice of the high price of Tandoori Roti if compared to price of Flour, The Chief Minister Sindh directed the Commissioner Karachi to take action if there is legal hindrance he to suggests the amendment in law. The Chief Minister also directed the food department to complete their targeted wheat procurement within two weeks and also to control on the wheat smuggling, so that price of wheat / flour could be maintain for the year.
The Sindh Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Dahar while briefing the meeting said that 11,56,000 wheat tons so far have been procured till yesterday while wheat procurement target of this year would be completed by the end of the 1st week of June, 2014.
He said that he made this possible by providing gunny bags to deserving growers at their door step. Similarly the volume of wheat smuggling to Baluchistan has also been got minimized or controlled.
Chief Minister assures officers they would be rewarded on their best performances by the Sindh Govt.

KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the impact of targeted operation against the terrorists, kidnappers and extortionist depend upon the convictions to the criminals arrested and challaned under this operation and asked the prosecuting officers to work hard, get these criminals convicted from the courts to make this ongoing targeted operation as success.
The Chief Minister Sindh also assured the officers that they would be rewarded on their best performances by the Govt. This he observed while presenting the keys of new vehicles to the Prosecutor General Sher Muhammad And other 14 Deputy Prosecutor Generals in a simple ceremony at CM House Karachi today.
Addressing this simple but impressive ceremony the Chief Minister Sindh said that Sindh Govt has determined to curb the crime and restore the old glories of Karachi.
He said that we have started targeted operation against criminal’s one hand and got the number of ATC Courts raised from 10, to 15 on other hand to ensure rule of law in the province.
He said that newly established 5 ATC Courts have specially been assigned to try the cases under the targeted operation. He said that after these efforts we and even citizen of Karachi are expecting convictions to the criminals.
He asked the Law officers to go through evidences, documentation of the cases and if they find any Laconia, must to inform officer concern and get it removed before argue in the court. He said that they to help the courts Sindh Police, Sindh Govt and people of Sindh by getting the criminals convicted. He asked them to work hard, Sindh Govt to help you in all sense.
Earlier the Home Secretary Dr. Niaz Abbasi highlighted on the importance of role of public prosecutors and their impact on the targeted operation.
The Chief Secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana , Law Secretary Mir Muhammad Shaikh , Principals Secretary CM Allumuddin Bullo, Consultant to CM Rai Sikandar and other officers were present.
