GOVERNOR OPENS LARGEST, MODERN DENTAL SKILL LAB AT LUMHS JAMSHORO

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebbad Khan inaugurated the “Dental Skill Lab” & “Pakistan’s Pioneer National Conference on Dental Education” at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro last evening.
The Vice Chancellor LUMHS Prof. Noshad A. Shaikh in his welcome address offered thanks to the Governor for sparing time to honor the University with his presence, which shows his commitment to promote Education in general and Medical education in particular for the people of Sindh.
He further expressed that LUMHS Institute of Dentistry is the second oldest seat of learning in the science of dentistry in the country. Its graduates are serving ailing community, not only in Pakistan but abroad too. At present, this institute is the first dental institute in Pakistan, which has achieved global standards of dental teaching and training, which is evident from the fact that it has established such a high tech dental skill lab for its young doctors-to-be.
The Vice Chancellor mentioned that the skill Lab will fulfill our aim of establishing Simulation based Medical education as prime teaching methodology, and to train our faculty to teach and our students to learn Clinical Skills in Simulated human environments.
The Vice Chancellor announced to name the newly established state of Art Skill Lab as “Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebbad Dental Skill Lab” in acknowledgement of dedication and patronage of the Governor for Health Sciences and up grading higher education in Sindh.
Regarding the first ever in the country Pakistan’s Pioneer National Conference on Dental Education the Vice Chancellor mentioned that 700 delegates from across the country are attending this conference. Some of the delegates are seasoned medical educationists and experts in dentistry. Over 12 invited papers were read, and 4 pre-conference workshops on various themes were conducted, which speaks volumes about the success of this year’s dental conference.
The Chief Guest the Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebbad Khan expressed that it is an honor for him to inaugurate the Dental skill lab which is the largest and most modern skill lab of its kind in the country and commissioning of this lab would help young dental graduates and postgraduates in learning essential clinical skills, without compromising patient safety. The Institute of Dentistry deserves heartiest felicitations. It is the need of hour that other dental Institutes of the country should follow the suite and make efforts to establish skill labs for their students.
The Governor further expressed that Pakistan’s Pioneer National Conference on Dental Education is another feather in the cap for the institute of dentistry as it has been attended by topnotch medical educationists and dental experts & the scientific committee of the Seminar would forward commendable recommendations to both the Higher Education Commission and the PM&DC in revamping the dental curriculum in the light of principles of adult learning to meet international standards.

SCA DEMANDS IMPLEMENTATION OF RATE OF RS.182 PER 40 KG FOR SUGARCANE

Sindh Chamber of Agriculture has demanded from government to implement rate of Rs.182 per 40 kilogram of sugar can which it had fixed. The chamber has also decided to become party to petition filed n Sindh High Court by sugar mills association. The members in a meeting held here expressed concern that if the sugar mills did not lift the sugarcane the growers will have to bear heavy financial loss. The meeting demanded that all sugar mills in Sindh start crushing otherwise the crops standing on thousands of acres will be adversely affected and the cultivation next time might not be in time. Meeting was told that rate of Rs.182 per 40 kg of sugarcane has been fixed by Sindh minister for agriculture in consensus of sugar mill owners but now the owners were trying to block this rate to maintain their monopoly. Opposing the application filed by sugar mills association in high court for stay the chamber decided to apply to become party to the petition. The meeting decided that the representatives of SCA will remain present in court on November 19 along with their lawyers. The meeting made appeal to SHC to uphold decision of government for rate of Rs.182 and to order mill owners to start crushing on fixed date and time so to avert any possibility of shortage of sugar in country. The meeting of SCA was chaired by its president Syed Nadeem Qamar and was viewed simultaneously through video link in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Ghotki, Sanghar and other cities.

OLD BODY REVIVED AS INTER PARTY ELECTIONS OF PTI DECLARED VOID

HYDERABAD: Intra Party elections of Pakistan Tehrik Insaf for Hyderabad region Sindh which were probed by commission under retired Justice Wajihuddin has declared same as null and void and has also put ban on new nominations. After this decision the Sindh body that existed during 2013 has been revived. This was stated by Allahdad Khan Nizamani president PTI central region Sindh addressing news conference here Sunday.He said now legally their was no leadership of party in Sindh and until next intra party elections regional body will look after affairs of districts. He praised leadership of Imran Khan in history of Pakistan has been first leader to hold intra party elections and promoted the spirit of democracy. He was accompanied with Ashraf Qureshi president Karachi, Dr. Mustansir Billah president Hyderabad district, Razaq Soomro president district Mirpurkhas, Wajahat K.K.president district Tando Allahyar, Hassan Pathan senior leader Tando Muhammad Khan and Ibrahim Mallah general secretary district Badin.
He said that arrangements were underway to hold Imran Khan’s public meeting at Larkana on 21st November.To a question he said categorically that there will be no division of Sindh and no more provinces as it was idea of Qadri and not of Imran. He also denied joining of PTI by Mumtaz Bhutto or Liaquat Jatoi. He advised Sindh president of PTI Nadir Akmal Leghari to quit.

SNP CONDEMNS MQM WORKERS TORTURE,THREATS TO SINDHI OFFICERS IN KARACHI

Sindh National Party has condemned the torture and threats by MQM workers to Sindhi officers and employees of Karachi water board and termed same as based on prejudice. This was stated by senior leader of SNP Ashraf Noonari, Dilshad Bhutto, Ramzan Buledi, Dr.Uzma Jokhyo and others in a statement here, they said Muthida under a planned conspiracy was trying to fan the ethnic violence in Sindh and since long Sindh employees working in various departments were being harassed. They were being asked to pay extortion and were being pushed back from their offices but the government was watching as silent spectators. They asked Mutehida to refrain from such tactics and stop harassing Sindhis in Karachi or Sindhi people can show backlash. They demanded from Sindh and federal government to take notice of it and provide protection to Sindhi officers in Karachi. They also made appeal to Sindhis to proceed to Karachi as they shall use city as their front fortress.

As details, A Community conference has held in Gym Khana organized by Pakistan Fisher Folk Forum Badin in collaboration with WHH. While addressing the participants, Abdul Qadir Junejo, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, Badin said that PFF is working for the people of Badin & district Govt appreciated its services. We have seen ever first in the field during any Emergency situation. Moreover, he said that FPP & district Govt has established jointly Project Support Unit which will be proved exemplary.
While addressing the participants, Mustafa Mirani, Voice Chairman, PFF said that it is a best project of FPP with WHH which help to reduce the poverty ration in coastal area. Jamil Junejo, Program Manager, PFF said that through this seminar we have provided the platform to community & Govt officials together & discuss the issues faced by the people. Shahid Umrani, Project Coordinator PFF said that PFF enlarged its outreach among 40 country of the world aiming to reduce the poverty from the world. Moreover, he said that FPP has made a strong coordination with district administration. Abdul Qadir Chandio, DO Social Welfare said that FPP has got registered 30 local organizations in coastal area & he hoped to pay its role for development of area. Tanveer Ahmed Arain, President, Badin Press Club, said that PFF ever seemed to struggle for the betterment of poor people & he ensured that media will facilitate PFF to high light the issues of poor people of area. On the occasion registration certificates of local units of PFF have also handed over to representatives of PFF Units. DCB Employees continues hunger strike for acceptance of their demands

Employees of District Council Badin staged protest in-front of Badin Press Club & hunger strike against non-disbursement of their salaries.
As details, Hundreds employees of District Council Badin have staged protest for acceptance of their demands & chanted slogans loudly against injustice with them. They also held hunger strike in-front of Badin press Club on its 37th consecutive day led by Wazir Ali Khaskheli, Rahim Bux Channa, Muhammad Khan Jamali, Mir Murad Talpur and Ismail Pathan. Dr. Qadir Mangsi also joined the hunger strike of the DCB employees & ensured his cooperation. Other hand Employees of DCB appealed to Sindh Govt for justice & acceptance of their demands.

Protests & rallies held in the favor & opposite of MNA, Kamal Khan Chang in Badin & Matli. Chang community has divided into two parts.
As details, People of Chang community has divided into two fragments on the issue of their chieftainship. Last day, hundreds of the workers of PPP & PPP Youth Wing gathered at Kazia Wah & DCO Chowk Badin to face expectant protest against former Home Minister, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza by Chang community. Consequently, one part of the Chang community has abandoned from the protest which was to be held last day against former home Minister, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza.
Other hand, representatives of Chang community including Wali Muhammad Chang, Muhammad Hassan Chang, Muhammad Ramzan & Abdullah Chang & others while talking with media said that there is no any chieftainship concept in Chang community. Moreover, they said that our Chang Community is against of such system.
Other hand, employees of education department including Muneer Chang, Qayoom Chang, Abdul Sattar Chang & others said that Kamal Khan Chang is our head of clan & we are in the favor of Kamal Khan Chang.

The Pre-Entry Test 2015 for admission in Masters Program in four Faculties and 28 Departments was held at the Central Lawn of Administration Block of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Sunday.
On the eve of Pre-Entry Test, Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah, Vice Chancellor, SALU said, “This is a historic and significant event that the Shah Abdul Latif University is holding an important event of Pre-Entry Test today for the 2nd time in the history of the University.” She said you should take maximum benefit from this golden opportunity; and make sure that every single penny of your poor parents are spending on your pursuit of education and same be utilized in right direction.
Vice Chancellor said it is high time Pakistan needs highly qualified, talented, competent, committed and credible human resource, to get it out of multiple crisis. Dr. Shah said that Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is ranked as 7th best general University of Pakistan and it also earned “W” category in Quality Assurance. I am optimistic that the students of this Alma matter will always be an integral part of that capacity building process in social and economic reconstruction of the country and they will play their pivotal role in the nation building, she added.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor announced that the 3 top position holders candidates admission fees would be wave off to promote the sense of competition and merit. It is pointed out that the Test was held in transparent manner and in peaceful environment. 836 eligible candidates appeared. More than 30 blocks were made at the venue of the test and 90 invigilators performed their duties during the test.
