GOC Pano Aqil paid visit of sensitive dykes in Ghotki

GHOTKI:
Major General Muhammad Arif Waraich GOC 16th division Pano Aqil paid a visit at Qadirpur loop and Shaink bund near Ghotki on Thursday.
Major General Muhammad Arif Waraich said that district government should ensure rapid arrangements to deal with flood; administration should stay alert to move stranded families and provide basic facilities. He further said, Pakistan Army will always think of public safety first, people should now cooperate with administration in relief operations.
Tahir Watu Deputy Commissioner Ghotki given briefing GOC Pano Aqil over the flood situation and said 310 villages of 9 Union councils of Ghotki are in Katcha areas, which are comprised on 210000 acres of land with 125000 populations. 42 boats are busy in moving stuck families from Katcha areas. He further briefed, 29 Dewatering pumps are run to evacuate the monsoon rain water from affected areas while 48 life jackets are present to use on need.
During the visit Muhammad Abbas Baloch Commissioner Sukkur, Syed Zaheer-u-Din and Babar Afandi MD SEDA were present.
Meanwhile, Chairman PDMA Ali Hassan Hingorjo also conducted a visit at Ghotki bunds and said that he has paid visit on the instructions of Qaim Ali Shah Chief Minister Sindh. He has come to ensure that district administration is busy in serving the flood affectees, from food to tents every necessity will be fulfilled, he added.

A gate near Ghouspur loop dyke broken due to rise in flood water at old Tori bund and K K bund at Kandhkot. Nearest populated villages and standing crops submerged. On information Hafeez Siyal Deputy Commissioner Kashmore and Irrigation officials reached on the spot, but no repairing work started till the filing of this news. Residents demonstrated protest and demanded to save their house and crops.

A Dotson driver identified as Abdul Qadoos Brohi was died due to over speed at Sukkur-Shikarpur national highway in the limits of Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station on last late night.
As per details a speedy Dotson coming from Shikarpur for Sukkur collided with dust heap which was put on the side of main road.
As a result of accident driver of Dotson was killed on the spot.
Area police rushed on the spot and dead body of the deceased shifted to the Taluka Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Lakhi Ghulam Shah for conducting post-mortem examination after conducting post-mortem examination the dead body of the deceased handed over to his heirs.

PETITION FILED AGAINST NSUSC ADMINISTRATION

A petition was filed against North Sindh Urban Service Company (NSUSC) by Professor Kewal Ram for worsening condition of cleanliness in Shikarpur on Friday.
According to press statement issued by Professor Kewal Ram he further stated that the condition of cleanliness of Shikarpur is worsening while main roads and streets of whole city inundated in sewerage water due to negligence of NSUCS concerned authorities therefore masses of Shikarpur are facing several hardships which has resulted in spread of diseases in Shikarpur in the light of facts a petition was filed in honorable High Court (HC) of Larkana against Managing Director (MD) and other officials of NSUSC of Shikarpur through their counsel Noshad Ali Khan Tagar.
The High Court (HC) of Larkana summoned Managing Director (MD) and other officials of NSUSC on 30th July 2015.

18 HOURS POWER BREAKDOWN AFTER LIGHT RAIN DISTURBS ROUTINE LIFE

Eighteenth hours power breakdown was observed after light moon soon shower in District Shikarpur surrounding areas on Thursday night and Friday.
As per details after light moon soon showers in District Shikarpur the Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) authorities observed eighteenth hours long breakdown of electricity disturbing routine life in various towns of the district including Dakhan, Khanpur, Lakhi Ghulam Shah and surrounding areas.
The people of Dakhan shut their business and blocked the Indus highway of Shikarpur-Larkana and held a protest against SEPCO authorities for long breakdown of electricity.
Protesters demanded of the authorities concerned to take notice of the matter and provide electricity otherwise they threatened to extend their protest circle.

The people of Sindh have breached the sight of relief after a long period when the adverse situation of law and order was brought under control with the support of Rangers personnel through their continuous action to conduct the cleanup operations against the criminal and terrorists elements in Karachi and the other parts of the province of Sindh where the people of the areas were feeling the sense of insecurity and frustration and remained under the treat of insecurity of life, honour and property. While he was of his opinion that no any person belonging to any political, religious parties and other civil organizations involved in criminal activities be not spared in order to ensure the peace and tranquility in the areas.
While talking to this correspondent here in Shikarpur on Wednesday Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh the PML-F MPA and the special assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan further said and added that the people of province desired to get their outstanding problems at their door steps through establishment of local bodies institutions for which the people have been depriving of such democratic right by the PPP rulers since last 8 years of their rule.
He said that his party has determined to oppose all actions taken by Sindh government for postponement of local government at every stage when the Election Commission of Pakistan was fully prepared and finalized the election processing programs for holding local government elections as per scheduled program decided by Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan.
While he said that the functional league would take part in ensuing local government elections through out the province of Sindh and claimed for victory with major support of the votes by the people.
On the other hand PML-F leader while expressing his dissatisfaction over the formation of delimitation by the Election Commission in whole of the province of Sindh generally and in District Shikarpur particularly has demanded to improve the irregularities and make acceptable delimitation of the constituencies according to the actual population at union council level so that the people could avail the due facilities for casting their votes in the local government (LG) elections.
While criticizing the Sindh government Mr Shaikh allegedly said no improvement was achieved by Sindh government affairs for well being of the masses excepting the deep interest taken by the PPP rulers to courage the corruption culture in all the government departments to meet ulterior motives.
He also blamed that the PPP ministers were involved in misappropriating the development funds as well as to encourage their party leaders to accept the illegal gratification of crores of rupees in the form of commission from development funds in all government department at District level in the province of Sindh openly through making appointments and postings of the favorite officers including DCs, TMOs and Town committee officers, Administrators, Public Health Engineering and other officers of other departments in order to avail the easy facilities to commit misappropriation in development funds in every district including Shikarpur.
He the PML-F leader has demanded of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to conduct inquiry against those officers involved in misappropriating the development funds and curse of corruption in all the districts of the province generally and in the district of Shikarpur specially where the big amount from the development funds was misappropriated in the heads of development schemes particularly.
Meanwhile talking to this correspondent Agha Maseh uddin Durani the PPP central leader and the brother of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durani has also expressed his dissatisfaction over the formation of delimitation in the District Shikarpur generally and NA-203 Garhi Yasin- Lakhi Ghulam Shah constituency particularly.
While he termed the one side action of the Sindh Election Commissioner (SEC) in support of some his favorite political party leaders during the recent inquiry held by him against the delimitation in Shikarpur District.
He informed that the PPP leaders of his constituency have decided to file and appeal in Sindh High Court (SHC) against the inquiry decisions relating to the delimitation made by Sindh Election Commissioner within some days to get the justice in this regard in order to enable the voters of the constituency to caste their votes without feeling the sense of any troubles for free and fare LG elections as per program of the Election Commissioner.

Inauguration ceremony of Sindhi magazine “Rekhaion” held at local hotel by management of Rekhaion magazine Karachi with the collaboration of Sindhi Adabi Sangat (SAS) Shikarpur chapter here on Tuesday.
Prominent poet Ahmed Solangi was presided over the inauguration ceremony and welcome speech was given by him and expressed the vote of thanks.

Program was containing in four parts including inauguration of magazine, appreciation awards, musical program and poetry.

COMMISSIONER HOPES INDUS FLOOD WATER WOULD PASS SAFELY

Commissioner Hyderabad Asif Hyder Shah has said that the Indus River passes directly or indirectly through 8 districts of Hyderabad and hoped that the flood waters this year would pass safely as there was no danger of it. According to media cell about floods set up at directorate of information commissioner visited the protective bund of Indus at Sahrish Nagar area Qasimabad to take stock of flood situation. Talking to media there the commissioner said it is estimated that around two and half lac cusecs of water might be passing through Kotri barrage this season.
He said the medium flood brings happiness to people residing in Katcha area of river as they raise crops on river water that inundated their lands. He said the people are prone to leave Katcha areas in case they feel danger and when water recedes they go back to their homes.
However he said the revenue staff will be present to help them in time of need. He said the irrigation department has improved the situation to get the flood water pass through safely. He said the irrigation staff was supervising all sensitive bunds and there was no possibility of danger at Kotri barrage.
He said in even of rain during the floods in river the strategy can be revised. He said relief camps in division have already been identified to help people provide relief items including medication as also treatment for animals.
He said PDMA has made arrangements of tents while in low lying areas of towns and city arrangements have been to drain water out through improved drainage system. Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fayaz Jatoi and others accompanied him.

All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric workers union president Abdul Latif Nizamani has said that due to untiring efforts of union the Eid Bonus, TA and Overtime arrears were paid to employees before Eid.
However he said the unabated incidents of death of employees was alarming .He was addressing the Wapda workers gathering at labour hall here.
On this occasion provincial general secretary Iqbal Qaimkhani,Mehboob Ali Qureshi, Malik Sultan Ali, Azam Khan, Muhammad Hanif Khan, Rafiuddin Shah and others were also present. Among the guests were from Sukkur Aftab Kalwar, Aqeel Ahmed Junejo, from Moro Aslam Jokhyo, Liaqat Ali Arain, from Nosheroferoz Ayub Ujjan, Hanif Khanzada and Qaim Chndio and Wapda and other trade union representatives from Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Nawabshh, Waheed Khan Munaf Nizamani and others from Hyderabad and Aslam Abbasi of H.D.A workers union.
He said now that holy month of Ramzan was no more the workers were coming to labour hall to visit in groups as labour hall was center for realization of their hopes.He vowed to restart the struggle after Eid against privatization. And asked workers to become active.
