KARACHI: The named of former Inspector General (IG) Sindh Gulam Hiader Jamali has been entered into Exit Control List (ECL), while National Accountability Bureau (NAB) orally informed immigration authority not allowing him to visit abroad.
According to NAB sources, NAB has given an application to Interior Ministry to enter the name of former IG Sindh in ECL, after this, Jamali will be prohibited to move out of country till the investigation of alleged corruption case completed.
On the other side, the source has claimed that Jamali has been orally prohibited to visit out of country and the immigration staff, deployed on airports, has been informed regarding the issue.
Earlier, Prime Minster (PM) Nawaz approved a summary from the Sindh government to appoint A.D. Khawaja as the Inspector General of Sindh.
The proposal to appoint Khawaja as I.G. Sindh was forwarded by the Sindh government, which was approved by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. A.D. Khawaja will replace Ghulam Hyder Jamali.
Currently, A.D.Khawaja is serving as the Additional Inspector General of the special branch of police.
Ghulam Hyder Jamali has assumed office of the Inspector General of Sindh by replacing retired Squadron Leader Iqbal Mehmood in July 2014.
