SUKKUR: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, Sukkur zone, Dr Javed Alim Odho has ordered the field police officers to fully implement the security strategy evolved to maintain peace across the Sukkur zone ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
While presiding over the meeting at his office here on Thursday, the DIG approved the new security policy to ensure foolproof security on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Chand Raat and last Friday of the holy month. All the senior officers including SSPs, ASPs, and DSPs were also present in the meeting.
The meeting also reviewed in-detail the security policy finalized by the provincial law enforcing agency to maintain peace during the upcoming religious events. The DIG has directed all the SSPs to remain present in their respective districts and personally monitor and supervise the security arrangements.
The DIG also ordered the officers to ensure reasonable deployment of policemen around Masajids, Imambargahs, religious schools, shopping malls, and other identified spots on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. The police are also directed to intensify armed patrolling in the sensitive and most sensitive areas to check the activities of the miscreants.
While addressing the meeting, the IGP said that cops found involved in corruption and misconduct would be kicked out from the police department.
The DIG also directed the Traffic police to ensure motorcycle checking in affected areas, but the motorcyclists with senior citizens and women should not be harassed, as complaints have been received in this regard.
