KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah under village Electrification Program has approved a Rs3 billion, a three-year village electrification project.
As per details, under the project some 2000 village to be electrified by the Energy department through concerned power companies. In other word each year Rs1 billion would be released for the purpose.
The Chief Minister Sindh presided over a high-level meeting regarding the subject matter at CM House today which was attended by Senior Minister for Finance & Energy Syed Murad Ali Shah, Additional Chief Secretary (Dev) Aijaz Ali Khan, Secretary Energy Agha Wasif, secretary Finance Sohail Rajput and others.
In the meeting a separate project for electrification of the villages of Karachi located on its outskirts was also approved for Rs600 million. Under the project 5 villages were approved for the purpose.
The Chief Minister directed the Energy Department to monitor the electrification work so that people of the villages could benefit from the scheme in time.
