KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has emphasized upon improvement of Law & Order in the province, with the specific reference of strengthening liaison amongst all relevant departments including Law Enforcing Agencies. He expressed these views while presiding a meeting on Law & Order on Wednesday, which was attended by Home Secretary Niaz Ali Abbasi, I.G.P. Iqbal Mahmood, Secretary Law M. M. Shaikh, Prosecutor General Sindh Sher Muhammad Shaikh and I.G. Prison Nusrat Mangan.
The meeting reviewed the various aspects of the law & order situation in the province of Sindh. Secretary Home briefed that the jailes at Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Sukkur are being developed with the high security arrangements, where the trials would also be held, after infra-structural development being initiated at a cast of Rs.1500 million.
It was also appraised that the requirements for necessities of Sindh Police and Prisons have been submitted to Interior Ministry. Secretary Home further informed that matter of recruitment in Sindh Police and rangers is in process, in consultation with the Ministry of Interior.
Chief Secretary advised the participants to ensure coordinated efforts, to achieve the task of good governance and improvement of Law & Order situation in Sindh.
