Artificial water scarcity in city areas and major power breakdown

KARACHI: The residents of several parts of Karachi suffering artificial potable water scarcity and power breakdown since Friday night , the people of different areas particularly Malir district suffering huge artificial water supply shortage.

Whereas, the metropolitan city was plunged into darkness after Iftar on Friday night leaving people frustrated in the hot and humid weather as well shortage of water supply in homes, mosques. Earlier a major power breakdown was also experienced a little after the power was restored Friday evening after a long 12 hour breakdown.

The widespread outage and shortage of water supply both affected Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Saddar, Clifton, Garden, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Burns Road, Jamshed Town, Jacob Lines, New Town, Railway Colony, Defence, Clifton, Qayyumabad, Sultanabad, Cantt., Kemari, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Quaidabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and several other areas in the city since two days.

On Saturday, Hundreds of residents of different locations particularly Guslhan-e-Hadeed planing Highway road block against Steel Mills, Water & Sewerage Board, local government and Tanker mafia, they are selling Tankers in Rs. 3000 and above, while people wandering for water and suffering artificial water supply shortage but no authorities to hear them in Ramazan.

  1. no one caring about artificial shortage, this is the first time we are facing this issue in G.hadeed, entire ramadan has been passed in these tensions. stupid govt/political parties geting votes in areas they all has to be responsible for to resolve this issue, 5-days has been passed line water has not supplied yet,
