A girl drowned into water pond others rescued by villagers

LARKANA:
A girl drowned into water pond and two other girls were rescued by villagers here in the jurisdiction of Arija Fero on Tuesday.
According to details: 8 year old Sharma daughter of Muhammad Khan Umrani her sister Reshma (5) and cousin Najma (10) were taking bath into the water pond at village Shahul Umrani in limits of Arija Police Station when they slept to deep water and resulting Sharma (8) drowned into water pond while other girls were rescued on the occasion by villagers, local people also fished out the body of deceased.

The Civil Society Support Program (CSSP) arranged a one day training and orientation workshop on “ rights of Minorities and responsible media “ here at local hotel Larkana on Tuesday.
Renowned Intellectual and writer Jami Chandio addressed on the occasion and highlighted the issues of minorities and said that 4.2 million minority people and 23 percent minority population were living in country, now it reduced to 4 percent according to 1998 census, rights of minorities in Sindh are not protected and causing the migration from Sindh to India.
Jami Chandio said that speech of Quaid- e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on 11th August was land mark according to 1998 census now only 4 percent people of minorities are living in Pakistan majority of them is Hindu community, who are sons of soil and origin inhabitants of Sindh, added that Jinah said “you are free, you are free to go to your Temples, you are free to go to your Masques or any other places of worship in this state of Pakistan, it was secular mind set and broad vision.
Jami Chandio further said that we should struggle for the promotion of religious freedom, human equality, social justice, interfaith harmony and raising voice against the victimization and persecution of other religious minorities.
Jami Chandio has said that media plays key role to wipe out the religious extremism, pursue positive issues of public and ensure the true reporting. CSSP manager Afzal Shaikh welcomed to all arrival guests and briefed to participants about the project on human rights in Larkana, very soon helpline will be established to deal with human and minority issues, added that Islam other religions gave lots of stress over equality, social justice and respect for human rights.
