ISLAMABAD: Bids have been received from four cellular phone companies operating in Pakistan in response to the 3G and 4G licenses auction, said spokesman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to the PTA spokesman, no new company participated in the bidding and that the name of successful bidders will be announced on April 17.
The licenses of 3G (30 MHZ band) and 4G (20 MHZ band) will be auctioned on April 23, he added.
The spokesman further said that in order to obtain 4G license it would be mandatory to to get 3G license first.
