KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has congratulated the people of Karachi, especially from its Malir district for reclaiming their genuine rights of franchise and exercising the same without fear or under any duress.
“People of Karachi have proved that they are truly democracy-loving. Whenever given free, fair and secure environment, they have preferred PPP in large numbers over other parties,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated in his message of congratulation to Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, PPP candidate who won by-elections from PS-127, Malir Karachi yesterday.
The Chairman said that PPP belongs to entire Pakistan and every segment of its society. In fact, PPP is the garland of the country representing the whole federation and people of all color, creed and ethnicity as flowers.
He said that with the victory of its candidate in an impartial by-election, the PPP has again laid the foundation of refreshing new political culture of coexistence and mutual respect and hoped that other political parties will follow the same.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it was the dream and plan of former Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to lay a network of flyovers in Karachi to sort out the traffic system in the city. Port Qasim Authority, Pakistan Steel Mills, Pakistan Machine Tool Factory, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sindh Medical College to a name a few were built by former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said that Shaheed Abdullah Murad of the Party had won the election held for the first time on PS-127 following new demarcations in 2002 adding that winning this seat again was a tribute to him by the people and the Party.
PPP Chairman also congratulated the PPP leaders and workers on their victory and exhorted them to go to door of every citizen of Karachi and assure them that PPP will add more mega project to the Provincial Capital to generate more employment and prosperity in the megalopolis. He stressed that people of Karachi should work together to restore the lost glory as City of Lights.
