ATTOCK: Twelve suspected persons, while entering into Punjab from Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK), were arrested at Attock on Sunday morning.
Police said that the suspects trying to enter into Punjab were terrorists and have been booked under relevant sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Three masterminds of terrorism and 9 children are also included among the 12 arrested suspected terrorists, police said.
While, the police successfully foiled a terrorism bid by seizing a truck containing a huge cache of explosive material from Shahdara Town of Lahore city.
During a routine search, police halted a truck on the Rawal bridge check post, where they examined 40 gunny sacks allegedly containing brimstone. A deeper inspection uncovered the explosives hidden in the vehicle.
Two suspects were also arrested from the site. One of the suspects belonged to Chakwal while the other hailed from Mardan district.
Police took both suspects to an unidentified location for interrogation.
