Zardari to step down as PPP co-chairman, powers to be transferred to Bilawal

KARACHI: A major change is expected in the administrative affairs of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as Asif Ali Zardari has decided on Wednesday to step down from the post of party’s co-chairman.
According to reports, the former president has decided to become patron-in-chief of the party, however, all the powers will be transferred to PPP chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The PPP leaders have also decided not to resign from the assemblies.
These decisions were taken during recent two-day meetings in Dubai. Majority of party members have endorsed the decisions but final approval will take place during the CEC meeting.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will announce party’s next policy on PPP’s foundation day on November 30.
