Wheat bardana procurement must be made transparent: CM Sindh

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that distribution of bardana and procurement of wheat must be made transparent. “I would not tolerate corruption, favouritism and negligence in this sector.”
This he said when Minister for Food Mr Gianchand Israni presented him a report about distribution of bardana and procurement of wheat in the province.
He told the chief Minister that he has suspended three food inspectors in Umerkot district for corruption in distribution of bardana.
Those who have been suspended include inspectors Iftikhar Incharge Samaro, Inspector Allahjurio Mangrio Incharge Ajun Rajar‎ and inspector Qazi Mohsin Sand Incharge Raja Rasti and Qazi Mohsin Pali Centre.
The chief Minister directed the minister that suspension was not enough but order inquiry against them.
Food Minister told the chief minister that distribution of bardana have almost been completed in the province. “Now farmers have started bringing wheat to the centres. “Wheat centres at Johi, Moro, Naushehroferoze, Mirpurkhas and some other districts have started procurement,” he said and added that the target of procuring 900,000 ton would be achieved without any difficulty.
The chief minister directed him to keep visiting centres personally and redress the grievances of the farmers instantly.
The chief minister also directed the minister to keep an eye whether the farmers are given money in time or not. “I have already given instructions to Sindh Bank to ensure timely payment,” he said.
