WASHINGTON: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with US Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday over breakfast at the latter’s residence in Washington.
As per details, Both sides reviewed Pak-US bilateral relationship as well as discussed issues of mutual interest. The PM apprised the VP of his government’s priorities and policies and also about the important economic milestones achieved over the last two years.
Nawaz Sharif said on this occasion that Pakistan has achieved considerable success on the economic front during the last two years.
Acknowledging Pakistan’s sacrifices against terrorism, Biden said that Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism has been praiseworthy.
Vice President Biden acknowledged Pakistan’s positive and crucial role in the war against terrorism and reaffirmed US commitment to continue helping Pakistan in achieving their shared interests.
PM Nawaz was joined by Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant to PM Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani.
