ISLAMABAD: Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown Thursday vowed to raise $450 million for the education sector in Pakistan.
According to a handout released by the PM House, Brown solemnly pledged to launch a fundraiser while talking to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif over the phone here.
Sources also quoted him as saying that the funds would be exclusively spent on improving the security of the schools in the country.
Applauding Mr Brown’s goodwill gesture for Pakistan and its people, the prime minister said that he was alive to the former British premier’s efforts for polishing Pakistan’s image in the world community.
