Two policemen wounded in minor blasts outside Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium

LAHORE: At least two policemen were injured in two blasts, apparently happened as power transformers installed near Gaddafi Stadium exploded, here on Friday night, said rescue sources.

Initial reports suggest that the policemen deployed for the security of the cricket stadium, where a day-night match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe is ongoing, received minor injuries due to the explosions near Kalma Chowk.

Police have cordoned off the stadium and its surrounding area and no one is allowed to leave the arena.

The 50-over match, however, remained uninterrupted amid the explosions.
