The legal battle between Karisma Kapoor and estranged husband Sunjay Kapoor has just turned uglier.
The actress has now filed a criminal complaint against Sunjay and his mother alleging physical and mental harassment from their end.
The complaint filed under Section 498 (A) of IPC is only for physical and mental harassment and has nothing to do with dowry demands as is being speculated.
Confirming the same, senior counsel Sanjog Parab who is representing Karisma in the matter told IndianExpress.com, “The complaint has been filed for physical and mental harassment and cruelty.
It has got nothing to do with dowry because there is no issue of money at all. It is purely a question of physical and mental harassment.
We believe as I have been instructed by my client that the gentleman (Sunjay) while his marriage is subsisting with Karisma, has been staying with another paramour in his own matrimonial house along with that woman’s child.”
